Perhaps now people will stop wishcasting about the US military refusing illegal orders. That's not a thing that happens. The 100% compliance rate with using civilian boats for target practice was a bit of a tell.

And most importantly, decades of national moral rot. This is accepted because the average American is a nasty violent bigot. Our entire media ecosystem, for longer than I've been alive, exists to justify Americans bombing civilians.
This feels like a culmination of several deep pathologies: congressional passivity, executive aggrandizement, national security exceptionalism, politics as theater, war as theater.

To be clear, these weren’t ticket sales because Netflix set up the contracts of the actors so they wouldn’t have to pay them for theater screenings. We can tiptoe around the wording however you want, but this was the studio continuing to profit off a bunch of former child stars with predatory terms.
