I get that you feel embarrassed to talk about porn but if you come at it from "they're censoring PG games and ASMR" maybe you can like... get over yourself?

this is hurting so many people and it's just going to keep getting worse?
would be really cool of any indie journalists who want to like.... talk about this massive form of censorship since it's a byproduct of the fascism we are all dealing with?
A couple times I see people say “UGH I wish I didn’t have to keep Ana unblocked, but she’s the only source I have on paypros censorship stuff…” and honestly I am really sympathetic to that kind of person

I think it is a major failing of the contemporary journalism industry that people feel like

Fascinating and chilling exploration of how an initially peaceful culture once imagined to have been Edenic apparently devolved into an orgy of violence—and then disappeared.

It’s useful to think about things like this in numbers of tenure track professors.

$53M is 575 assistant professors. Or more than thirty percent of the total number of full-time faculty at LSU.

ChatGPT’s signature writing style is everywhere now, and I hate it. It reminds me of when we tried mixing all the beverages at the soda fountain in middle school. We didn’t actually create the perfect drink, we just made a cloying monstrosity that lost everything good about its constituent parts.

For at least a year, I've been returning to the question, how would you know when it's time to leave the US? For this piece, I asked trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer Americans who, with their families and partners, have recently fled the country, about how they made this decision and how they left.
When Is It Time to Flee?
Trans people and their families are facing hard questions and choices as threats to their safety and rights proliferate.

Oh, yeah, NPC writing is the best. You can do worldbuilding, add a gameplay tip, or just invent a memorable weirdo. Or a whole city of weirdos. It's great.

My most-used words list, from anisota.net/harvest . I see "fuck" and, in much smaller print, "fucking."

This obviously means that I need to use more versions of the word "fuck." Fucktastic! Fucktonian! Fuckeroonie! I will need to contemplate possible uses for these.

I heard a story about a female academic giving a paper at the IHR who, after receiving a long and aggressive question from a senior male professor, simply leaned back with her hands behind her head and replied “Oh, do fuck off.”
One of my colleagues went to a seminar at Berkeley and when someone asked a question Derrida brushed it off saying ‘what you ask may be important but it is not interesting’.
This path leads to chaos.

I monitored these same sorts of white supremacists for years (to fight them), and let me tell you.

You have to CONSTANTLY, aggressively deprogram yourself.

Even just, the language. We are social creatures and we absorb the language we're around. Guess what words enter your mental vocabulary
This is the correct take. Stewing in white supremacist propaganda is bad for your thinking. And if think you are so savvy that it won’t impact you, you are the exact kind of mark they are slowly converting (I’m looking at you, centrist pundits).
It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

If you help the United States, we’ll fuck you over and abandon you. Not the individual servicepeople or intelligence officers — they’ll fight for you. I mean the depraved, soulless leadership of the nation.
So now they’re going to be doing individualized re-review of tens of thousands of Afghan evacuees’ cases on TOP of the re-review of 200,000+ refugees who entered under Biden?
