Awful news out of Monmouth. Wales has been taking an absolute beating from floods in recent years.

Hopefully the town response is similar to that in Pontypridd sfter 2020/2022 and the power and skills of the community saw restoration and repair start immediately.

It's really bad for our politics that depending on where you live, you basically will have at best two parties that have any serious ideas for how to improve things.

The absolutely stunning drama ‘Edge of Darkness’ produced by the BBC in the mid-80s is on iPlayer and is an excellent recommendation for a rainy weekend.

Bob Peck is imperious in the lead role, Troy Kennedy Martin’s script is perfect, stunning cinematography and music by Eric Clapton. Just great! 👇

The only issue being addressed is that the UK Parliament is finally ridding itself of the hereditary rights to sit as members.

Absolutely insane to me that a government acting on this in UK Parliament has absolutely *nothing* to say about the hereditary principle for the head of state! Hypocrisy!
