One more bit of @ericidle.bsky.social & Neil Innes RUTLAND WEEKEND TELEVISION brilliance, from the end of the show's first series (season for us Yanks)... THIS is how you wrap a run of episodes...

I don’t know about a fundraiser (really ought be one - maybe contact the MS/MP?) but the Town Council have organised a collection of food/clothes etc:

Yep, it’s hard to see in the aftermath for obvs reasons, real people’s lives and livelihoods have taken a beating. In time though, I’d bet the community will shine through.

Tbf, RCT local authority and local business have learned a lot of lessons and has massively improved its defences after.

A real sense of solidarity here from Pontypridd where we had similar experiences in 2020/2022.

It’s so devastating, esp for those places that have recently invested in their shop/pub etc. Good luck to you all and hope the community really pulls together (and lessons learned about future floods).❤️

Awful to see the scale and breadth of damage. Hopefully the community will strengthen in adversity and rebuild/repair/restore. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
