screenshot of a tumblr post from user “wildmansters” The thing that really boils my potatoes about Al in general is that I have been a creative professional for over a decade now and the devil has ALWAYS been in the details. Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.

thanksgiving dinner for world's most polite cat #Blikoposting
my dear tuxedo cat bliko waiting patiently at the dinner table, she has seated herself in a chair and staring at me with her big ol eyes, there is a iced drink on the table. (it's not hers but we can pretend it is for the photo) a decorative ceramic sauce dish repurposed as a cat bowl, it has a nice pink substance inside (tuna paste bisque from a cat treat pouch) topped with morsels of cooked shrimp. (Bliko loves shrimp the most out of any food item) Bliko with her front paws on the thanksgiving table and her entire face shoved inside the ceramic cat dish. Every so often she will take a piece of shrimp (still coated in tuna paste) and drop it directly onto my chair's formerly spotless upholstery before gobbling it down. There is a plate of half-eaten Thanksgiving food in the foreground (mine), which has cornbread stuffing, scalloped potatoes, brussel sprouts, and a large piece of ham (baked not steamed) (actually we kind of gave up on baking the whole thing because the oven just doesn't heat it up enough even after half an hour so we ended up just putting individual slices in the microwave and it turned out perfect) (wait if the microwave cooks by heating water does it like, count as a steam) (much to ponder about on this holiday season)

won't have em for this weekend, but i've been getting a few more people at my table than I'd like lately asking *very pointedly* if i drew everything myself, so i designed a new sticker this afternoon that will hopefully quell some of those concerns.

By and large, however, the allegations against the other social media platforms are less detailed than those against Meta. The internal documents cited by the plaintiffs allege: Meta intentionally designed its youth safety features to be ineffective and rarely used, and blocked testing of safety features that it feared might be harmful to growth. Meta required users to be caught 17 times attempting to traffic people for sex before it would remove them from its platform, which a document described as “a very, very, very high strike threshold." Meta recognized that optimizing its products to increase teen engagement resulted in serving them more harmful content, but did so anyway. Meta stalled internal efforts to prevent child predators from contacting minors for years due to growth concerns, and pressured safety staff to circulate arguments justifying its decision not to act.
