I feel like can AI in medicine hold off a second? Doctors needed to really get step one, listening to their patients, before they started getting instructed from AI slop textbooks & error prone AI started taking on jobs that require human expertise & human connection.

moving these computers to Linux will def work for these individual computers, but not at a systemic level. a lot of them are owned by local government, school systems, small businesses etc who likely aren't allowed to switch bc of contracting rules or who don't have expertise or just won't

If you're new to Linux there are many music players to choose from. You should try them out and find what you like. Tauon is my favorite. It is really feature rich and handles big collections.

Really REALLY starting to understand the tech landscape today as the age of "loss of consent". My settings don't stay set. Features are forced on me either forced upgrades or by inclusion with a critical security patch. I increasingly have ZERO CHOICE in my interactions with computers.

This is the thing that has been most shocking for long-time advocates. The CEO of my agency has been doing this work for 40+ years and she consistently says how support for policies supporting the disabled has long been bipartisan.

It may be hard to believe, but for the better part of 40 years, Republican presidents frequently signed legislation promoting special education. Nixon signed the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. George H.W. Bush signed the Individuals with Disabilities Educastion Act

Medical racism is a big reason why Black folks avoid the doctor. There are too many bad experiences with racist doctors & it develops distrust. Most of us have tales of medical racism. Then you get into community knowledge of all the times we were medical test subjects historically.

This has always been the goal of AI companies. Shove AI into as many products as people to make people completely dependent on them, and thus give companies as much leverage as possible to crank up payment dials. Generative AI has more in common with a parasitic infection than a piece of technology.
