if the USG wanted to expend the effort to get into your signal you were already turbofucked regardless

this is not true for 99.9999% of people
I think it is *incredibly* irresponsible for someone like @stonekettle.bsky.social, with a huge following, to claim that Signal is just as insecure as texts or other public social media.

This is a classic “making perfect the enemy of the good” error.

Darkly amusing at how much less threatening the military is
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Can’t wait to get shot in the back by Border Patrol and have the entire internal security apparatus of the United States announce that I was an armed terrorist because I was carrying a plastic whistle
Whistles are now WMDs, according to the "high IQ" crowd.

Signal is a very hard cryptographic target, so if a Signal chat is compromised it’s because (a) someone has mathematical zero-days on elliptic curves (and now PQ); (b) someone with APT-level resources has compromised the phone it’s running on; or (b) someone in the group screenshotted the chat.

I’m seeking photos and videos of drones used by ICE, like these. Please send any you have my way - trying to better understand the patterns.
There are numerous reports across the Twin Cities on ICE monitoring pages of drones circling apartment buildings. What valid law enforcement reason could there be for this?

The party that has spent unlimited resources and energy getting states to pass laws to allow citizens to openly carry loaded weapons anywhere - now believes that exercising this right is permission for law enforcement to murder you.

Honestly, how dumb do they think we are?

Minneapolis is going to win. Can’t you feel it?

They have no support, even the most timid equivocators are quietly shuffling out the back door. All they have is guns. They can hurt us and they can threaten us but there is no road to victory for them.

It’s a quagmire and they’re suffocating in it

When Ada Mackenzie saw that women had no place to golf, she built a golf course.
When she saw that women golfers didn't have golf apparel, she opened a store.
She also happened to be one of Canada's best golfers, winning many championships.
This is her story.

I had never heard of this before yesterday, and it's a great example of why Americans need to think more broadly than either 1930s Germany or even US history as a whole about parallels for the current situation
The Chun regime that my wife fought against in the 80s did the exact same thing. They needed a "crisis" that "only they could solve" to hoard more ill-gotten power, so they chose one city (Gwangju), declared its inhabitants enemies, sent trucks full of soldiers to violently attack and kill them.
