There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for.

One dog is a friend. He's a gentleman. You go for civilized walks. You greet your neighbours who know him by name. He presents his butt should they desire to scratch it.

Two dogs is a kennel. They howl at specs of dust. They eat at a trough. Their farts hang thick in the air. They have demands.
The way we keep privatizing public services as if this is still a common sense way to govern is some real boomer head-in-the-sand shit. The last 20-40 years has shown that the public gets a worse service every time.

I like red tape. It means I can drink water that doesn't make me shit blood.
Marit Stiles warns of water privatization in Ford government’s omnibus bill
Bill 60, the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, would designate a corporation to provide water and sewage services "on behalf of particular lower-tier municipalities."

Are you troubled?
"The rage-baiting is really nauseating," says Councillor Parthi Kandavel. "The idea or the implication that we're against kids getting ice cream or seniors getting a cappuccino, it's troubling. That insinuation that some of us are knuckle-dragging suburbanites ... it doesn't reflect the complexity."

OK I've listened to Showgirl and the turn-her-head-all-the-way-around-crazy song on this album is Father Figure.

And, of course, it's the best fucking one.

One thing about AI is that it allows people to bypass the emotional discomfort of not knowing what tf you're doing, even as you're trying to figure it out. That space between knowing and understanding is confusing and frustrating and students don't know how to cope with lingering there.
Students using AI is definitely the thing that is going to break me. Not even failing grades work as a deterrent.

Before I listen, does the new Taylor Swift album have a song about her being turn-the-head-all-the-way-around insane?Because I would like to start with that one. Those ones are the good ones.

These massive ass trucks are just another reason why turning right on red is so fucking dangerous for pedestrians.
You might think that the mayor of Yellowknife, the capital of Canada's vast Northwest Territories, would be a fan of giant pickups.

Nope. He's disgusted by car bloat.

I feel like it would have been both easy and anti-inflammatory to put the word "Incorrectly" after our Glorious Conservative Leader's name in the title, given the data present in the article, but what do I know www.cbc.ca/news/politic...
Poilievre claims Christians 'may be the number 1' victims of hate-based violence | CBC News
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said Monday that Christians and their places of worship are being targeted and, if elected, he will crack down on religion-based hate.

I don't really miss American products that much. The only part that's hard is reading books by Canadians, Brits or Europeans that are published though U.S publishers. And that pisses me off for other reasons too. Mainly, I hate American spelling and I never want to measure something in cups again.

Driving is dangerous. Drivers get away with murder. What other slogans can we shout at Queen's Park?
She was thrown under a streetcar when a car driver knocked her off her bike. Her case was withdrawn — one of thousands tossed each year by a ‘system in shambles’
The mass withdrawal of road safety-related charges has become routine, the result of an overwhelmed court system that is leaving millions in fines on the table and letting dangerous drivers off the ho...

Something that I really like about rugby: I've been paying attention to it on and off since university, and I honestly don't really know the rules. But it doesn't matter! It's still fun to watch!
I tried watching a 30-minute video by a British rugby youtuber all about how Canada is revolutionizing rugby tactics, and 50% of if was *woosh* over my head, but from the 50% I understood: in simpleton football terms, every player is a QB doing a read option based on what they see in the defense

It is kind of amazing that we made it to the World Cup final. Canadians, if you aren't watching rugby, check it out. It's the only thing that compares to hockey in terms of speed and dramatic twists. Also, we can win.

One of my favourite parts of a historical epic is Blonde Solider Who Represents Male Innocence. He believes in things he doesn't understand. His blue eyes go wide when he sees death. At some point a Boobly Tart takes his hand and he stumbles to a backroom with her so it's less sad when he dies.

It's a bit funny that "conservative voices" has just become synonymous with "losers lying". Like when a threatening letter arrives at Google saying "reinstate every law-breaking moron you banned for saying that masks cause autism" Google responded "we're sorry for censoring Conservative Thought"
