In Trump's first year, he has developed a distinctive style of government — authoritarian, but so poorly thought out as to blunt its own effectiveness.

I call it "haphazardism," and it may just be the thing saving

It is international law 101 that a military blockade is not just a violation of the UN Charter, but a crime of aggression.

Unless that blockade is in response to an 'armed attack.'

None of President's Trump's list of complaints come close to an armed attack.

We have (and need) Section 230 because in 1995, Stratton Oakmont successfully sued Prodigy as a publisher of libel because a user posted that Jordan Belfort's firm was "100% criminal fraud" and a "cult of brokers who either lie for a living or get fired." Sec 230 makes online forums possible.

He’s another of this admin’s sterling examples of the “peasant-coded” belief, as Jamelle Bouie put it, that evil turns people ugly from the inside out.

money
being born into money
knowing other people with money

One of the things that you see at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina is a Jim Crow era Coke machine that was designed to fit into a segregated bus station. One machine two sides.

The Coke cost more on the Black side.
Amazing how many articles are just “I’m a white guy who didn’t get the promotion I wanted and the only answer to this problem that concerns every single one of us is to re-segregate the workplace”

By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

Yep. I don't doubt MPD juked their stats. Many do.

But also -- and I know this is going to come as a shock -- but a lot of white cops resent working for black chiefs. And a lot of male cops resent working for women chiefs. This is a black woman chief.

So this "investigation" is . . . not much.
Buried under 12 paragraphs and 4 ads is this: that an investigation into the politicization of data was conducted not by … actually reviewing any data … but just by interviewing senior officials who disliked their chief.

So more politics.
