NEW: Just weeks after being named chair of the House subcommittee overseeing Elon Musk’s efforts to slash what he deems wasteful spending, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) bought thousands of dollars of shares in Tesla.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Bought Tesla Stock After Named As Chair Of DOGE Subcommittee
The Georgia Republican stock purchase puts a spotlight on potential conflicts as she oversees Elon Musk’s federal cost-cutting initiatives.

Musk’s supporters believe that, through tech wizardry and sheer willpower, he’s slashing the federal deficit in a way that has eluded politicians for years. But this narrative has a glaring flaw: The Economist’s review of official data shows that his efforts have scarcely made a dent in spending.
Elon Musk is failing to cut American spending
DOGE has so far disrupted everything in government bar the deficit

When I heard Musk say this on Tuesday, my assumption was that it was a programming issue. Because I can code and have written to databases and because I am familiar with other examples of default values being misinterpreted.
Yet somehow Musk isn't.

This comment on r/fednews really stood out to me. Trump and Musk want people to think they're firing do-nothing "bureaucrats," but they're really getting rid of people dedicated to serving this country and keeping it operational. I hope these stories get told.

democrats discovered the power of polling in the 90s under clinton and in the next 30 years convinced themselves that they can't do anything unless the polls "say they can." they give up on the notion that they can actually tweak public opinion via... leadership.

Oh I don’t know might have something to do with the constant centering of the people who enabled this moment

So they can say

I am not a white woman and I’m past the point of trying to reach them. Not my ministry. White women need to take care of their own house. They need to do the work of reaching their friends and family members.

Someone needs to talk to white women. That someone is not Imani Gandy. Not her ministry.

White women need to talk to their friends and family. And stop excusing them with “they voted for Tr*mp but they’re really a good person.”

people are telling me that I need to speak to WW in a way they can relate to because 54% of WW voted for Trump.

The Handmaid's Tale premiered in 2017. The majority of WW voters in 2020 and 2024 voted Trump.

Time to let go of the idea that it is nonwhite people's responsibility to hold WW's hand.
Please stop comparing everything to the Handmaid’s Tale. The Handmaid’s Tale was a story centered on a white woman who clearly was middle to upper middle class. That is not going to be the tale of the primary poor people of color who will bear the brunt of these policies in this country. Stop it.

Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified"

This is a brazenly racist and sexist lawsuit.

These people are in full capacity of their judgment when, in an act of free will, they choose to do the wrong thing. This may appear to be insane because the effect is damaging on USA and Americans. It is sane, just evil.
