Went to see March of the Wooden soldiers at Ye Old Town Music hall, and the historian introducing the film said the it was released during a time when Americans we SICK of musicals. Hollywood was putting out nothing but.

I wonder if that was the 1930s equivalent to 80s IPs and Marvel movies.

Even old Hollywood had at least 5 studios… I love these big steps back. Can’t wait for them talkin’ pictures to go silent.
I’m so happy there’s three media companies now. That’s so much choice!

Jeffries is a Republican.
I didn't have Hakeem Jeffries praising Trump for pardoning Henry Cuellar as the thing that would absolutely ruin my day, but just...truly...how in the world can people defend Hakeem Jeffries? How morally lost do you have to be to go to bat for someone who will never even pretend to protect you?

Screenwriting notes from people who don’t know how to read

Script: His little face lights up at the sight of his big brother.

Notes: this wording made me think he was lighting a blunt.

Me: the child?

Notes: yeah.

Me: even though that wouldn’t make any sense?

Notes: that’s why I was confused

I made the switch to Tidal and I absolutely love it. Transferred all my playlists and any songs they couldn’t find they put on a list so I know what’s missing. It’s also easier to organize my playlists with folders!

AND Tidal pays musicians!

Fuck Spotify ✌️

Check out this pathetic fuck ass who just tries to pick fights with Trans people so he has something to post about.

WHAT A LOSER!!
How about

“the inch trans people were given a decade ago has tuned into several miles and our kids are suffering for it.”
December 3, 2025 at 7:41 PM
I’d say that inch was given post civil war and now we’re REALLLY feeling it.

Half measures vs. full measures.
just for anyone who lost track;

The inch bigots were given a decade ago has turned into several miles and my friends are suffering for it.

Daily reminder that Tesla’s still explode and we don’t actually know how dangerous driving one is because safety information has been suppressed from the public

Oh, and a recently— I met a person who read as femme but to double check I asked what pronouns they used.

The person snorted and said “I didn’t think being a they/them could be anymore obvious.”

Well FUCK ME for asking.
Recalling the time a friend found a kitten and I asked if it was a boy or girl and was told in all seriousness “please don’t gender my kitten.”
we all have that one friend who’s too woke. we all have that one friend who took me aside years ago to tell me in a spirit of grave concern that my saying ‘yall’ was rank appropriation

No cross today for Lady Leavitt
Q: You said that second strike was in accordance with the law of armed conflict, but the Navy's own manual says that firing on survivors from a wrecked vessel is an example of a war crime

LEAVITT: I would reiterate that the strike was conducted in accordance with the law of armed conflict

Gary Oldman… no question.
This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

I go out of my way to avoid AI. I tell everyone I know to do the same.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

I’m running on pure rage these days
The thing about AI anime dubs and AI Actor Tilly Norwood and AI music is just the fucking disrespect, this is what your industry thinks can replace you and it’s not even good. It’s not even a thing you look at with dread at how the computer has replaced Man, it just sucks ass lol it just blows

What kind of #Autistic are you?

I’m the kind that has a (badly) laminated timeline of the 19th century, with my personal history touchstones nicely dated, and I look at it in awe of how much technology and society changed in those 100 years. I’m comforted by patterns and relatability.

In Non-Houdini land, I also bought The Pinks, which is about the early days of the Pinkertons— especially Kate Warne, America’s first female detective.

Her first job was helping her boss Allan Pinkerton solve the Adam’s Express Company embezzlement case..

I just ordered like 5 Houdini books via Thriftbooks (fuck Amazon) and the one I’m MOST excited to read is about Rose Mackenberg— Houdini’s “girl detective”.

When Houdini got too famous to busy Spiritualists, he sent Rose pretending to be a “grieving widow”. She busted over 1,500 “mediums”
