I feel like there's a bittersweet but hopeful ending that could work, with Nani losing custody but keeping visitation rights and doing everything she possibly can to get to a point where she can get her sister back. Meanwhile Stitch stays with Lilo and she still has a friend.
man if only nani had a support system so she didn't have to raise lilo all by herself- OH WAIT!!!!!!

I saw a lot of posts about how Coriolanus imagining Tigris resorting to sex work is a prime example of his innate evil and, having finally finished the book, that's probably one of the least evil things he does.
