Slave owners faced no significant repercussions for buying and selling people, physical torturing them, taping them, separating their families etc. they didn’t even have to forfeit their wealth! Of course their descendants want to do it again

A small-town Kansas mayor is in trouble for voting illegally as a noncitizen—but the town of Coldwater, almost entirely Republican, is rallying around their mayor, who voted for Donald Trump in the last three elections and has lived in the town since he was a teenager. trib.al/K1au5Ny

Ever wonder why we aren't hearing as much out of Gaza?

It's because Israel has killed hundreds of journalists and refused entry to aid workers.

They want to commit genocide in private.

There is a reason "The" Ohio State University is not on this list.

It it DeWine's reward for living on his knees hoovering trump's spittle.
Hegseth to US military: if you get into MIT, we won't let you attend because of the risk that you will be exposed to ideas hostile to MAGA when you study there.

'Rep. Raskin (D-MD) made an unannounced oversight visit to the ICE field facility in Baltimore, Maryland, yesterday. He saw “60 men packed into a room shoulder-to-shoulder, 24-hrs-a-day, w/a single toilet in the room and no shower facilities. They sleep like sardines with aluminum foil blankets.”'
"That the Defense Department is loaning a military weapon to CBP is itself concerning, but that a weapon powerful enough to cause the closure of El Paso’s airspace was in the hands of someone who mistook balloons for cartel drones is also a problem."

I was on a bus in the 1980s and the guy sitting next to me said "I'm adopting a wait-and-see policy on the melting of the polar caps." I thought it was hysterical, and I got a lot of laughs in the retelling. It haunts me now to think that this is where we'd be, 4 decades later.

I once again feel compelled to remind folks that you feel science news/new scientific developments are bad and destructive because you are not reading science news: You are reading techbro press releases, regurgitated uncritically by outlets that long ago fired all their science/tech beat reporters.

When they said 'We're going on a cruse!" I didn't say, "massive polluter of the oceans"
When crowed "marble countertops!" I didn't say "massive rates of industrial silicosis" and
When they said "ecotourism!" I didn't say "colonialism".

Then the rich said
"Ok, but what if it had propaganda and a private army"
and the gilded age was born.

Even though it's staring them right in the face, and there are plenty of people they could interview.
