Tomorrow it’s monday, a perfect moment to ask the #marketing and communications team of your company, to remove that google map from the website and finally replace by an #openstreetmap map.

(Article below is somewhat older, so not sure it’s still 100% accurate)

OpenStreetMap is a map of the world that is free to use and user contributed. You can edit the map and like Wikipedia if you do a good job…

I'm finishing the Libby book I'm reading now & pulling my "to read" books & data elsewhere. Done. I'm not using a product that is encouraging AI. Allowing 'self identification' only proliferates poor products in an industry that already needs more creativity.

there is a woman on TikTok who has been arguing for months now with randos that keep insisting that nobody called 3.5" disks "floppy disks" or "floppies" at the time. it's weird. no matter what kind of proof she provides or how many agree with her, people are coming out of the woodwork to disagree

Really want to emphasize this. Don't use shit like LAW or milk in your eyes. If you don't know what LAW is, great, don't bother. I've worked in chemistry labs and production floors most of my adult life, including with lachrymators and irritants. Use water. Just water. That's it.
Hey, you! :)

Here: activisthandbook.org/wellbeing/ri..., has a link to a 56-pg field guide. And also, a giant freaking 486-pg book for medics.

Short one is closer to what you want. Relevant bit for pepper spray ⬇️

This is where the AI push into schools feels quite parallel to all other reforms of past decades:

1️⃣ introduce new policy/system/tool without evidence
2️⃣ then claim need for data/evidence to support success
3️⃣ THEN blame teachers/schools if it isn't successful

(#3 is already happening, btw)
Drew Bent, the education lead at Anthropic: "'We’re at a point now where we need to make sure that these things are backed by outcomes and figure out what’s working and what’s not working.'"

Convenient that *now* is the time for evidence, once these products are released and pushed into schools.
