when you're a dialectical materialist it really hurts to debate people with Vibes Based Politics, because you can tell immediately that it's All Vibes, and no Actual Analysis of the world
It also reduces it to just different policy positions etc but the reality is if you are a scientific socialist, a materialist and you are talking to an ideological liberal you are generally talking to an idealist. There are fundamental incompatibilities at the foundational + epistemological level
A thing that’s occurred to me over the years is that liberals saying “we agree on 95% of stuff” really downplays the importance of what’s disagreed on. A chud probably agrees with me on like 30% of stuff, like groceries should be cheap or we should get to die on a mattress, and so on
