I... I... I sometimes feel like western leftists have an ego that makes them blind to their own shortcomings.

Because yes, "Marxists" (a very broad category that groups in many people) argue about material conditions.
So do anarchists. That's literally the point.

Hot take

The best fantasy settings are not the classic medieval Hodge podge of early medieval to Renaissance.

No, the best settings, imo, are either modern fantasy (entirely fantasy people's and histories going to the mall and using magic cell phones) or fantasy 1900s-1920s

“He raped me.”

“Donald J Trump had raped her along with Jeffrey Epstein.”

“She was found with her head ‘blown off’… there was no way it was a suicide.”

Now we’re starting to see why Trump was hiding the Epstein files, and it probably gets much worse.

Libraries are great because where else can you have a PhD researcher reading a book about physical cosmology, sitting next to an 8 year old reading about Warrior Cats.

Americans will do this while also shaming AES countries for their journalism being controlled for a narrative.

My siblings in the US... OUR media and journalism is the problem. It's all controlled by bourgeoisie interests.
The Bari Weiss hysteria continues. Exactly what in "this piece isn't ready" and "try harder to get comment from the administration" constitutes the death of American journalism? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

So, I'll be running the Delian Tomb in this setting, that IF we continue on with the game I'll build out the world as we go.

General idea: Broadhurst is a town in the nation of Lebarra, a theocracy near the center of the world ish.

With both the head of the Church of Videlicet and a monarch ruling
I decided to do something radical for me...

I just made a localized hex map for a TTRPG game instead of a full world with lore. Deciding to build it as we go.

I've always loved the Tales Of series of JRPGs. Are they high art? No. Are they hokey and anime? Yeah, basically.

But man, I still enjoy them because they go out of their way to criticize systems of oppression a lot.

So, we have a weekly game of Pathfinder 2e, and I think I'm at my wits end with one of the players.

He's in his mid to late 30s and this man is SUPER immature and awful to my brother, the GM. Just constantly arguing about rulings and not even reading his feats or spells.

In my version of Vampire the Masquerade, the key is survival and community.

Sure, every group has their idea of what a good society means. They're all representative of radical groups in a way.

The Camarilla, Carthians, Sabbat, Lilithian League, Strix, they all want stability and community.
Well I don't care, I'm sharing

So, I'm a dirty heretic who rewrites A LOT in order for people to have options and such. As such, I basically took the Jyhad (renamed to Kulhivaru for reasons) and made it more of a millenia long game of chess and not as much all out war... Usually.
Psst, hey kid, wanna hear the plot to my Vampire the Masquerade (using PbtA) chronicle concept set in Washington DC?

Draw Steel not only enables or encourages team work, it demands it. So many abilities in the game "don’t work" if you don’t have an ally to do them with
In tactical RPGs we often see the "how do I optimize MY hero" discussion, which certainly happens with Draw Steel, but I have also seen a lot of people say stuff like, "If you really wanna optimize in DS, you should focus on the party not the individual." That was by design, and I'm glad it works.

When I was in the UK I was on Threads instead (it was awful) and I got off of there because liberals thought they were revolutionary and repeating CIA propaganda and shaming anyone for correcting it.

Good times.

Waterfox is cool again, at least.

I really wish there were more actually independent web browsers that aren't Chromium.

There's really only Chromium (ew)
Safari (Mac only)
Firefox flavors

Interested to see what Lady Bird looks like when it eventually launches.

I believe it is impossible to continue supporting the USA after reading about what happened in Vietnam by the US and South Vietnam puppet government.

It's disgusting.
One thing after another, and it's a constant stream of horrors.

The key problem is that the DNC/liberals do not care. They want their own imperialism.

It's why we called out the inhumanity of the DNC for a long ass time

cis people on the skyline are genuinely more distressed by karoline leavitt’s lip fillers than the fact that congress just said, “what we should do is put any doctor or pharmacist in prison who gives lifesaving medical care to this specific kind of child we find gross.”
Bluesky tonight is neatly divided between trans people and family members appropriately angry and freaking out and everyone else who has barely noticed.
