Cosmic explorer circulating at the library, and helping people connect with their stories. Look for me in nonfiction books.
Amazing stories change us, and I’ve lived a few of them.
Wearing FloMask because COVID is airborne and also circulating.

An opinion I pretty firmly hold is that everyone should make a song, paint a painting, act in something, and write a book even if all of those things end up being objectively terrible

Check out what your library has to offer. Besides books, mine offers access to Kanopy (movie streaming), DVDs (I watched the Tale of Princess Kaguya earlier tonight), and many other services, like language learning. And they really need our support now.

just building this awful camp system is a crime against humanity imo
The proposed centers are so large that some could house as many as 8,000 detainees at once, according to a DHS spreadsheet of more than 20 potential locations that was verified by NBC News. The largest federal prison in the U.S., for example, has roughly 4,000 inmates.
ICE plans to build mega warehouses for immigration detention spark growing concern
Sources at two government contractors told NBC News they were worried that new warehouses — and the large numbers of immigrants who would be housed in them — would present safety problems.

I speak to so many people who think they haven’t caught COVID but don’t mask or test. It might be that a few of you didn’t but it’s far more likely most of you had asymptomatic COVID. Between 40-49% catch asymptomatic infections but it’s not a cold. Mild doesn’t necessarily equate 🧵

The DHS funding deadline is six days away and we can’t settle for empty reforms with the regime’s death squads.

Demand that Democrats hold the line and refuse to fund DHS without ironclad limits on ICE and CBP, actual accountability for abuses, and clear guardrails to stop raids and intimidation.

THIS is exactly why I mask in every indoor space I do not control & do other (unmasked) things only in spaces I can control or mitigate. It’s literally the only way I have to protect myself from Long Covid Russian roulette.
Asymptomatic infection is occurring in up to 49% of cases of COVID. Asymptomatic does not necessarily equate to mild outcomes. This is why testing was important and because you can transmit via airborne route to a lot of folks in a shared air space. Many of whom might go into suffer serious outcomes
I see so many posts with folks saying they don’t get COVID. Sadly the risks of asymptomatic infections have been forgotten. This is why we had testing. Please read about asymptomatic COVID. Infections still carry post infection risks and can infect others. ada.com/covid/asympt...

It’s been 8 days and we still don’t know the names of the men who murdered Alex Pretti.

DHS must be abolished. No ICE. No palantir surveillance police state.

There’s no “fixing” a sociopathic agency designed to trample on our freedoms.

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

Open letter to our Senators:

Gentlemen, Ladies, we don't really care about ICE not getting even more funding. We don't care about more "training" and more rules they won't follow.

We want ICE de-funded. Dismantled. Gone. Driven out of our cities.

This is a funny looking deescalation. Sure looks like they're ramping up their capacity to arrest, detain, deport, and terrorize Americans exercising their constitutional rights. Should Senate Dems give the regime the benefit of the doubt and agree to more funding for DHS?
BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.
