Not even 9am. So far on Radio 6, the news bulletins have featured a mother saying her daughters aren't safe because of asylum seekers, a Tory politician lambasting Labour for crossing numbers & Badenoch encouraging councils to lodge legal challenges against hotels. An endless stream of hateful bile.

That Trump is normalising the notion of a forcible eviction of an entire people from a patch of Middle Eastern land does not seem to bother Netanyahu. Caught up in his genocidal mania, he cannot even discern what a lethal notion this is for Israeli Jews. www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblo...

YouGov find just 30% of people think we were right to leave the EU. The lowest number yet.

Just 10% of 18-24 year olds think it was the right decision.

This is a good and accessible piece on the place of big tech in people’s lives. To me, that notion of being more deliberate about tech use will become increasingly important. A lot of what we do is habit, be that visiting Instagram or shopping on Amazon. Habits can be broken – sometimes within days.

Mick Lynch is retiring. An unparalleled communicator standing up for straightforward left values.

Here he calls out Labour for “being afraid of itself” 🙌

Always against nationalism, & for tackling wealth inequality. Legend.

Been swithering about this one for a few days as it clearly has that Christmas feel but looks terrible. My kids (6 & 9) will most likely love it despite all its terribleness.

An offering to the tea gods. Every morning, my wife makes a cup of tea. She then gets distracted, forgets about said tea, then discovers it again, only to discard it as she doesn't drink cold tea. (sometimes she regeats it in the microwave).

Etymology of the day: before a tapering piece of hanging ice was called an ‘icicle’ it was an ‘ickle’. In the Middle Ages people decided to add ‘ice’ for extra oomph and (tautologically) called it an ‘ice ickle’, until the two words eventually blended together.
