The 2024 election was a basically a test of America's survival instincts. It did not pass.
Q: Have you heard this audio that Bloomberg has of Witkoff coaching the Russians on how to appeal to you?

TRUMP: That's a standard thing. He's gotta sell this to Ukraine, he's gonna sell Ukraine to Russia. That's what a dealmaker does. I haven't heard it but I heard it was standard negotiation.

Since I wrote this piece last month, Trump has called for the hanging of six Democrats who urged the military to follow the law. He's called a reporter "piggy."
No rationality. No impulse control.
When are news outlets going to get serious and declare that the president is out of his mind?

Former president go to prison when they commit crimes quite often in other countries. Brazil. South Korea. Italy. France.

We really need to get this country used to the fact that Trump should be the rest of his life in prison.
Brasil's top court to Bolsonaro... GO TO JAIL NOW. Start that 27 years son, we don't care if you were hallucinating! WOW. Look at what a functioning democracy can do.
SIGH. Meanwhile, our supreme court just upholds everything the 38 count felon wants.

I'm hearing some people call this treason, and that's not fair.

I'm pretty sure treason requires overt acts; through speech, it's merely sedition.

This should lead every article written about Elon Musk.
The numbers vary from study to study but hundreds of thousands of people have died because of Elon Musk and Marco Rubio illegally disbanding USAID — a body count on par with the first eight years of the Syrian civil war — In just seven months. It’s mass death that is simply unfathomable in scale.

After one of the worst acts of racial terror in our history, *we erased it.*

We didn't teach it.

We didn't take anyone to trial.

Police records disappeared.

So did newspaper archives.

The silence continued until 2020, when people, you could say, woke up.

Almost every day the fascist stories are accompanied with stories about record anxiety and stress and uncertainty and loneliness and hardly anyone wants to connect the obvious dots.

Fascism is a collective breakdown. People are struggling and there has to be relief.

What we have here is an astronaut /veteran defending the Constitution against a pedophile billionaire who is demanding complete and total personal fealty from the nation’s armed services.

I like our odds!
Of all the people to attack, a sitting US Senator, husband of a congresswoman who survived being shot in the head, a former Naval aviator who flew 39 combat missions and a freaking actual honest to god astronaut who’s been to space four times!
These are not bright guys.

It’s an all hands on deck. Different tribunals must be assigned different investigations. T&C for the worst crimes (DOGE, ICE, etc) The Hague for war crimes (Venezuela and the boat strikes), DOJ for corp bribes, state AGs, Congress committees. Someone must bring logic and coordination to it all.

Jared Kushner is another person who must be prosecuted and jailed if we want to have a functional democracy going forward.

And his money must be taken and used for pro-democracy purposes.
Pretty remarkable that Trump has installed someone on the Saudi dole — Jared Kushner collects millions in fees from the Saudis every year — in a key role for America's most sensitive and consequential foreign policy negotiations (Gaza, Ukraine), and it is largely TREATED AS A NON-STORY

Everybody involved will need to go to prison and if democrats in congress don’t have the stomach for punishing these people they should just resign now.
DOGE was created for data theft and infrastructure dismantling and it wildly succeeded on both counts within the first few weeks of its existence. It will take a generation to rebuild what it destroyed and the breach of data is unprecedented.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.
