I play fathers of teenagers on television; I also play murderers; sometimes I play both at the same time. I also do the Broadway every couple of years or so. Up next: “This World of Tomorrow” with Tom Hanks. He/him.
In 1995, I got my first taste of Stoppard when I saw “Arcadia” at Lincoln Center. It became one of my life’s goals to work with Tom one day. In 2014, nearly 20 years later, I did. It was one of the great honors of my life. Rest in peace, Tom. Thank you for all of it. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/29/t...

i find it so off-putting when you watch journalists interviewing politicians and you can tell they’re friendly, all in a big club that doesn’t serve the public’s interests. access journalism is the opposite of accountability journalism.

"What if one of YOUR favorite politicians/celebrities/etc is on the list?" Did you all not notice how quickly we dropped Neil Gaiman when we found out about the things he did? Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

Trump has the chance to do the funniest thing tomorrow
JD Vance: "I serve under Donald Trump, who is very healthy. If I served under Joe Biden, I'd probably be worried every minute of every day that he was gonna croak and that I'd have to become president."

This really is part of it. So many of them rolled over without putting up a fight, so scenes of ordinary folks demonstrating and standing up to ICE goons are foreign and a bit shameful to them

Proud union man here! JD, who to my knowledge has never been part of any union whatsoever, is telling us more about his own bigotry than he is about actual union members. Great 🧵 on the history of diversity as a pillar of true solidarity.
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

Speaking as a Jew, I'm pretty tired of the non-Jewish people in charge fabricating antisemitism in order to manipulatively get what they want, but when someone throws a Nazi salute at the inauguration or sports a Nazi tattoo for 20 years we're told to shut up because that isn't what they meant.

It’s funny how black people are expected to reach across the aisle to voters like these, while no one ever expects them to reach across the aisle to black people. Amazing who gets to be human, and who doesn’t.
POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.
