FWIW the whipple building is the site of a concentration camp for indigenous people. If the lineage to fascism in Europe isn’t clear , that’s out of ignorance on tappers part
Here's one more example of why watching CNN makes you dumber.

Jake Tapper tells a local bookstore owner protest isn't effective and concentration camp can only be used in the Nazi context.

Listen to @democracynow.org @citationspod.bsky.social and read @inthesetimes.com @levernews.com instead.
Concentration Camp: a prison or other facility used for the internment of political prisoners or politically targeted demographics, such as members of national or ethnic minority groups, on the grounds of national security, or for exploitation or punishment.

A regular reminder that cops have been doing exactly this to Black Americans for far longer than our cellphone culture has been reporting it.

If we want the nation in which we live to be different, we must organize, rise up, and make it so.

With *diverse tactics* including big strikes and more.
Not sure our brains were made to process extrajudicial executions in the streets in real time

What the hell? The YPJ Information & Documentation Office @ypj.bsky.social has been suspended.
In the midst of the attacks on Rojava.

@safety.bsky.app what are you playing at?

remember, you can yell scream and curse at the political fundraising texts, but DO NOT reply with an actionable threat because the US attorney’s office considers the volunteer batch sending them to be a live human recipient of that message. it’s not just a bot. those cases can and do get charged.
I didn't make this, but it needs a reposting.

I've been studying the history of US, and indeed, global policing my whole career and I can't make it more clear to law makers that this isn't a bastardization of policing, it is its purest form and logical conclusion. The impunity, militarization, deference, legitimacy, racial targeting, etc.

We are not going to let them pull a "this person was no angel" when it turns out the next person they kill was maybe kind of a jerk, or used drugs, or had a violent past, or wasn't loved by all who knew them.

You don't have to be perfect to deserve to live.
People already working hard to prove how perfect Alex Pretti was. To show he didn't "deserve" to be killed. But it's a trap folks. You're only feeding into a dynamic where people who are considered lesser get no protection. You don't have to be an Alex Pretti to deserve to live.

What I can say from living through and studying the last quarter century of revolutions is that are two ways basically guaranteed ways to start an uprising: raise the price of food 500% or kill people in the street one at a time over and over and over again.

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

ICE can't win against this. They are weak and scared and confused and have only gotten as far as they have because they lived in a propaganda fantasy.

The real world is much colder, and much more full of brave, decent people than they could have imagined. They know they're losing.

Hans Zimmer was one of my favourite composers growing up, I learned to play a number of his songs on piano, they meant a great deal.
As with other artists I liked as a kid hes decided to join the Harry Potter franchise and put his fame towards works that fund trans genocide. Im so tired of this.

The County Commission went ahead and made their decision BEFORE the 10am meeting, based on the ravings of one Moms for Liberty member. Fairhope Public Library is now cut off from the courier service that connects our county libraries. Despicable. It's retaliation for resisting fascist censorship.

It is vital that LGBT youth have access to books featuring positive queer representation and information. I had to go it alone as a queer kid in Alabama; nobody ever told me it was okay to be who I was, and that there were lots of people like me. I want better for kids today.

Moms for Liberty has succeeded in getting state funding revoked for my local public library (Fairhope, Al). Today, Moms for Liberty is at it again. They are trying to get Fairhope library removed from the inter-library courier service, which allows you to return books to any library in the county.
