brass solidarity band performing “stand by me” in the streets of whittier next to alex pretti’s memorial. the crowd started chanting “the people united will never be defeated” so they incorporated it into the song. i love minneapolis

I am continually impressed by the way Minnesota is covering it all—their mutual aid efforts are 🥇

I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.

For those unfamiliar with Edina this is the Minneapolis equivalent of a Westchester socialite walking down Fifth Avenue singing "John Brown's Body."
They got Edina Moms excoriating the Administration and signing off with a a land acknowledgement. They are so fucked lol

the only reason "abolish ICE" is seen as radical is that no one will say it but the far left. if every normie Democrat started saying it tomorrow it would move the overton window so far you'd have to squint to find it. my kingdom for leaders who understand they can shape public opinion.
Democrats officially going all in on the mealy mouthed “ICE needs training” narrative.

No. ABOLISH ICE.
WARNER: It used to take 5 to 6 months to get trained. They've now lowered the training period to 47 days. Why 47 days? Because Donald Trump's the 47th president. Tell me that's a rational approach

KERNEN: I'm not taking that bait

WARNER: Joe! You can't pick your facts

In the olden times we weren't allowed to cite Wikipedia as a source and now it's like the last safe option.
wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

For those not familiar with Lewiston, here’s what Heather McGhee wrote about its renaissance as a hub for refugees.

Newcomers have revitalized a dying mill town and lifelong Mainers are reaping a solidarity dividend by welcoming them.

Hey @warren.senate.gov, this is fucking loser shit right here. The correct answer is you will never vote for funding increases under any condition because you are abolishing ICE like your constituents want.

#Massachusetts #mapoli #AbolishICE
.@PabloReports: Would you vote for any funding increases for ICE?

Warren: Not without more restrictions. This is an agency that is out of control. If we don’t get some restrictions in place, they’re going to put more American citizens at risk.

I got anxious about this last year ('77 baby) & had a titer. Immune to mumps and rubella but I showed NO IMMUNE RESPONSE AT ALL to measles. I got a booster immediately.

Another friend in the same age zone had her doctor tell her not to bother getting the titer, save the $$ and just get boosted.
I just read an NPR article that said
“If you were vaccinated between 1968 and 1989, you likely received just one dose of the measles vaccine, instead of the two doses that are standard today.”

I’m covered with my 2 shots but anyone born before 1989 could benefit from another measles shot.
