People were pissed at the budget hearing last night! Lot of powerful testimony from librarians, rec center staff and teachers who had spent the day with traumatized kids and hearing from coworkers scared to come to work because of ICE and SPPD. From the MN Society for Professional Journalists: St. Paul police shot three photojournalists (MPR, Reuters, Sahan Journal) with "less lethal" munitions during an ICE operation yesterday. One had to go to the hospital. They say they were specifically targeted by St. Paul police.

@mayorher.bsky.social your silence regarding the actions of ICE and SPPD yesterday is loud & unacceptable. SPPD should not be supporting ICE, should not be using pepper balls, tear gas or other “less lethal” weapons, & should not be attacking journalists, legal observers, & other St Paul residents.

Federal agents caused multiple injuries and deployed tear gas multiple times. The agencies that had a confirmed presence are: FBI, ICE, DEA, and HSI. Federal agents were seen with “police vests” but we have confirmation that SPPD and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office were not involved or present.
