Portland: MAGA is going to be holding a second "patriot block party" at the ICE facility tonight & tomorrow.

There is the outside possibility that it could include Proud Boys.
MAGA is planning another "Patriot Weekend" at PDX ICE this Fri + Saturday. Last time this happened it got very very aggressive (see thread).

They are hinting at a "surprise" this time.

Not just shit but actively harmful to themselves. Issuing statements through personal accounts then wondering why people are in their mentions about unresolved and/or wrong mod decisions, and getting weirdly petulant and angry as a result.
like, 99 percent of the current problems people have with the bluesky mod team stem from the fact that they have no PR team and are shit at doing PR themselves

My latest essay in the Ballantine Adult Fantasy reading series is about Lin Carter's Tolkien: A Look Behind The Lord of the Rings, his 1969 book about, well, Tolkien. It's also Carter's attempt to tell the history of "epic fantasy." It's messy and weird but, as I argue, really important:

I think a new government would be a better outcome for all involved, but the point is not without merit.
if your moderation team bans someone for a harmless unactionable exclamation of disgust, but permits a govt account to say stuff like this,

you need a new moderation team.

Noahpinion, for instance. Jeepers, folks. The world is not made a better place by quote-dunking Noahpinion. Everyone already knows he's a dolt.
Interchange his name with over a dozen others this place is obsessed with to the degree you're actually their fans through a perverse back door. Don't talk disdainfully about "normies" & then make clear you're the first ones clicking on every NYT, WaPo & Atlantic link you hunt down in the wild.
People. Please. We all already know Thos. Chatterton Williams says nothing of value to no one who cares. Consider his latest pre-dunked by all and sundry, and move on. The field's been played. The well is dry. The horse is dead. Move on.

BlueSky could have shared a screenshot of my tweet showing the Oct 10 timestamp and that I was using Johnny Cash lyrics to quote-tweet about an article on Johnny Cash. Instead, they made it look like I issued a random death threat and falsely claimed I posted it this week. They should apologize.

Since Sarah Kendzior’s account has been restored for a “death threat”- I’m wondering why Link’s hasn’t… does Bluesky take alleged threats against their CEO more seriously than ones against other people? Will Patton Oswalt also have a full account ban?

Every single judge, no matter the docket, should have to spend one 34 hr day in the local jail, one in the state prison, and one in federal prison.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

I'm yearning for people to read the novella I just quietly released on a small press. There have been some delays shipping from the publisher. This book means so much to me, & my journey to seeing it published was so long. I'd love to see it out there so I can get reader feedback.
