Again: if we forever block change for the better, then guess what type of change we are going to get instead.
One of the strongest reasons to regret the decline of the left is that it has led victims of political and economic failure to believe that Reform is a solution to their problems. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Inside Horden, the County Durham town failed by politics
In Horden, County Durham, Westminster slogans have long been left unmet as the population has plummeted.

it keeps going back and forth between being infuriating and funny how much we study this when the answer is always the same and it never matters

“Researchers have found that when a new plasma center opens in a neighborhood, foot traffic at local grocery stores increases, interest in payday loans declines and crime goes down, an indication of the way money from plasma props up households’ finances for necessities.“
Middle-class Americans are selling their plasma to make ends meet
Last year, people in the U.S. made an estimated $4.7 billion selling their plasma. Donation centers are popping up in middle-class neighborhoods, including suburban strip malls and college towns.

the democrats deliberately boosted the candidacy of donald trump and ran status-quo empty suits against him and those brilliant strategies got the US two trump terms. a few oddly still have the audacity to blame the left for their lack of enthusiasm in cheering on these obviously awful plans

Tim Allan’s lobbying firm ownership sparks calls for investigation into Keir Starmer’s comms chief. Zack Polanski: “This isn’t about individuals — it’s about the state of the Labour Party.” Serious pattern emerging.
Tim Allan may be getting less attention than Morgan McSweeney, but his links raised serious questions - and they’re part of the wider pattern of questionable appointments.

This isn’t really about individuals.

It’s about the state of the Labour Party.

I have something I call The Harry Redknapp Rule, which goes thus: if someone is caught, by fluke, doing something wildly, intricately illegal - in Redknapp's case, placing dodgy cash in a Monaco bank account in his dog's name - then it is vanishingly unlikely that this is their first such crime.
Do we think that a) Epstein is the only person Mandy was doing favours for? and b) Mandy is the only one doing favours for people?

Do we?

always worth remembering when you see an article like this which names no sources, you are effectively seeing a covert press release from the party

If we’d learned in 2018 that e.g. Seumas Milne was passing privileged government info to a secret network of influence-peddling sex offenders led by the world’s most notorious nonce - do you think the lads would struggle to understand why that had grave implications, far beyond Milne’s office?
I mean: this summary of how fucked it is does not even touch the sides of just how bad it is.

This post used to have a Community Note on it describing the dozens of emails between the two, including Kimbal Musk thanking Epstein for introducing him to a woman and a line from Epstein's bestie Boris Nikolic asking him to "not hurt Jeffrey's girl," but it's gone now.

It would help if every centrist who says they’d love to abolish ICE or end a genocide or protect trans people or get to universal healthcare but “you have to think about elections” would admit they just don’t want to do any of those things and are quietly fine with fascism if it doesn’t touch them.

The ocean just hit its highest heat level on record.

In 2025, ocean heat content set a new record for the ninth year in a row. Scientists estimate the ocean gained about 23 zettajoules of heat, which raises sea level and can fuel extreme weather.

What we do on emissions now shapes what comes next.

Not the point but I hate that “Kumbaya” is used as this hippy-dippy, thought terminating peacenik cliché… it’s a Gullah song, it’s a desperate plea to God for aid, begging him to “come by here”. Yet somehow enslaved Africans pleading for something better gets twisted into sarcasm and cynicism.
Or more accurately: *there is no road to recovery for Labour* because the moment they were put under scrutiny, it became crystal clear that it is infested with squealing little dorks like this who implacably hate liberals and the left, and are forever fantasising about new crackdowns upon them.

They placed her and her five year old daughter in a hotel and told them not to contact anyone.

Labour councillor thinks that the murder of a woman - with plans that political parties in the UK are specifically looking to emulate - shouldn't be political.

Labour have no intention in every challenging the far right - which is why they'll be next to follow unless we stand up to them.
How low can Polanski go? Weaponising the killing of the mother of a 6 year old girl, that’s how low.

Leadership clearly isn’t a Green Party strong point.
Trump started it.

Reform and Tories are at it too.

And Labour already heading in that direction.

All cruel, potentially deadly and does nothing to fix the cost of living crisis.
