Thanks for all the kind words on my Radio 4 interview tonight on the economy!

Vital to ask about this idea of "radicalism" - radical is actually what this Labour Government are doing.

Protecting the interests of the super rich over people and nature.

Rachel Reeves says this Labour Governments decisions are "necessary."

Why is it always necessary to hit the living standards of the 99%?

When are we going to make the necessary decisions about extreme wealth?

Donald Trump’s regime extended asylum to a criminal who took the lives of two National Guardsman today.

That’s the way we’re supposed to frame this right? It’s the fault of whoever was president and we can now call it the Trump immigration crisis.

I don’t make the rules.

Listen, people who say this shit are just lazy thieves. If they had all the money in the world, they'd still steal your stuff, and they throw insults around because they're perfectly aware it's wrong.
AND!
Not paying artists is exactly what ensures only the wealthy can make art, you numpties.
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

once people get past the mental hurdle of thinking Everything Must Be Profitable, we can start asking what people actually NEED, what would improve lives, even if it loses money.

that's where government stepping in can be good. It's not that complicated.
Given the closure of the Carrs in Anchorage, seems like something that city should be considering. After all, the city went so far as to fund buses to other supermarkets for local residents. #Alaska
Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)
