Per that last repost, you could make your "bespoke" delicious punch without alcohol and let guests add a splash of alcohol if they want! Then anything leftover is okay for breakfast, heh. I'm thinking red/cranberry type punches, but a lot of different fancy drinks taste good w/out booze anyway.

I 100% agree and would add that if you are hosting a holiday event and you do NOT have something festive, creative and delicious for your guests to drink without alcohol in it, you are actually an asshole

So I guess the official stance of this admin is that the military HAS to obey ANY order, no matter how illegal they might know it is? That's.... seems.... Starts with an F. Type of societal/gvnt approach to things...fa...fas... Fascist. Right. Obey or else.

Had outpatient procedure today to do my annual check on a creepy lump and the lump was still lumping there, same as always, and now I get to wait 2 years before we do another internal lump check. Hoorah! It was every 6 months and then every year and it's no fun to have this procedure.

People see huge backlists and assume that means people are raking in cash but I am telling you, esp writers who have been at it for twenty years: the book you buy might be the only sale for that title all month long. I've got old stuff that only sells one or two copies a year.

If women are underrepresented in STEM, it's at least partly because men like this offer mentoring, then embarrass themselves by assuming their mentees must be into them, then decide the best solution is to cut ties, which sends the signal to other faculty that the mentee must not be good enough.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.
