Some of my books have cats, and almost all of them have kissing and cussing. www.jodywallace.com
This is an ad I made in Canva for my books. It is a kind of mishmash of cutout shapes and inside each shape is either a cat face or one of my book covers. The delights include my three Cat Ship books - Catalyst, Catapult, and Catagenesis, as well as Traitor, Defender, and I think I see the bottom corner of Blue Guard in there and the top of Pearl of Wisdom. Well, hell, it's been awhile since I made this graphic. It's been awhile since I was writing and marketing actively, like a year and a half or more, but I'm trying to get back to it. BUT more importantly, the cats pictured are: a brown tabby arrogantly licking his paw, a ginger idiot looking at the camera, another brown tabby staring at something on a table, and another idiot, this one a flame point, with a closeup of his face. The two idiots are my actual cats and the others are stock photos. Words on the graphic include: fun, kissing, he's mad, humans, too, space hijinks, books with cats, me ow, and my website which is www.jodywallace.com. Come say hi.

Remember when you tried to tell us “the younger generations don’t think that way.” And “the young people will save us.” There are a lot of great, humane, decent, bright young people out there. But there are also a lot of these young people. And they’re not going anywhere.

Steve would really like to be in my lap with his thumbs and his cute little face but I'm probably trying to eat dinner or something stupid. #dailysteve
A grey and white kitten with a mostly white face and grey around his ears reaching a paw forward onto the blue shirt of what appears to be a white lady who has her hand on him to keep him from getting up in her face. I know because I was there.

If anyone came in there and was actually good, I'd make them leave, haha.

This is why I dance instead of jog, run, lift weights, etc. If it's not fun, I can't make myself do it.

Granted, my kids may or may not ever be parents - I have zero expectations of them in that regard. But I wish I could coax more adults to just take an hour a week to come fake samba with my class.

My kids had to wait for me if they weren't in class. I felt it was important for them to understand parents get time for themselves, especially moms.

When my kids were younger, my spouse worked out of the home and wasn't available to help with shuttling, so I did it all - BUT... I started taking adult tap when it was offered and prioritized myself at least an hour a week.

Moms in my area in particular - are kept so so busy running kids around and won't do anything for themselves. Sometimes these moms have help from partners, and sometimes it sounds like it's almost all on them.

Like, many are willing to make time for a burn bootcamp or gym, but not a dance class, which is more recreational. As if they can allow themselves hardcore exercise-only but not FUN that happens to include some exercise.

I wish we had more students! I don't know why (I do know why) adults in my area won't make time for themselves to take a dance class.

August, btw, was disco line dance. September our ballroom dance friend showed us some ballet stuff. We are going to keep doing some barre work to loosen up hip joints each week, too.

Is a lot of the exercise we get in there us laughing because I'm demonstrating the "samba bounce" and wow, it's VERY wrong. Yes.

Am I doing anything right, like actual samba? No. Are we still moving around for the majority of class? Yes. Does my student who is an actual ballroom dancer humor the heck out of me? Yes. Does she patiently correct me when it's egregious? Also yes.

On Mondays I lead an "adult variety" dance class where I have watched some YouTube dance videos (BEGINNER LEVEL) and then attempt to teach what little I absorbed to my class. We are doing samba right now. Why did I start with the hardest one? LOL

Is THAT what happened to my keys! Got wings and flew off!

When you let him jump around, how do you keep track of him??? Or was that taken in his terrarium?

Wee little Steve pad pad padding across the floor with all his many toe beans. #dailysteve
A grey and white kitten with white legs walking across a brown floor, shot from slightly above the kitten. The kitten is in the process of moving one front foot forward to walk. The front paw that you can see clearly has extra toes.

It feels like we haven't had Steve that long and he's already grown A LOT. Kittens do that. Here's a more recent shot. I think he's gone from 2.5 lbs to about 5 now, if I had to guess. Comparatively, Pip, an adult female cat, was 5 lbs when we got her as an adult. She is V small.

Traveled this weekend and missed some dailies! Let me gift you with this Steve #dailysteve He would like to share Culvers, pls. (Answer: no)
A picture of a white man in a ball cap and flannel shirt sitting at a brown wooden table. On a yellow cloth placement in front of him is spread out a burger and fries from Culvers on napkins with the burger paper unfolded like a plate. To his right he is holding up his hand to keep a grey and white kitten from pouncing into his food.
