I'm going to do a slightly unhinged thing (while my post-brainscan guts still have Klono's own gadolinium in them). I'm going to buy a copy *and read it.*
A California winemaker is struggling to sell his Chardonnay ... so he's written a romantasy novella about it. The novella, unsurprisingly, looks awful.

This is an excellently-written review, and maybe the first I've seen that considers both the base quality of the game AND its moral and artistic integrity, especially in the face of the studio's AI use.
For Arc Raiders to ride the wave of human sociability all the way to the bank, while also being so contemptuous of the thing that makes us social animals in its own workflow demonstrates a lack of artistic integrity that I find impossible to ignore.

ha! I was just listening to an old interview with Douglas Adams about Hitchhiker's and he says explicitly his style is directly influenced by Winnie the Pooh. I've been saying this for years, ever since i read to my kids as an adult and thought, wait a minute, I've seen this before

I read stuff like this and I have to sit back and think: where DO I want to be as a dev?
Cus I don't wanna make tiny popcorn meme games and play the lotto. That ain't sustainable, too many are trying that already.
So, hmmmm.

Sat down for a lovely chat with @clert.bsky.social over @eurogamer.bsky.social To talk about my games and how I'd like to keep making and improving them sustainably. To step away from the launch, meme and hype driven madness that has taken root in games.

As viral hits like Escape from Duckov and Megabonk change the industry, Falconeer developer Tomas Sala has found another way to survive
What if you didn't have to spin the roulette wheel every time you released a new game, hoping for it to find an audience? What if there was a better way?

Those who enjoy both The Rings of Power (season one, specifically) and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein may be interested to know that both feature the same costume designer: the wonderful Kate Hawley!
Hawley also worked on The Hobbit trilogy, which del Toro was originally set to direct.

@realgdt.bsky.social's Frankenstein was an absolute visual treat. I loved all the symbolism in the costumes, the anatomical / religious martyrdom-in-art-history comparisons -- even the tapetum lucidum in the Creature's eyes to link him to the natural world -- delightful.

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

I don't have AppleTV, but the premise of this reminds me a LOT of a darker take on my favourite book, Robert Charles Wilson's The Harvest 🦋
Oh my, I'm going to love Pluribus. 🤩
Probably yet another great sci-fi series from AppleTV.
Not surprising coming from Vince Gilligan. But hats off to the marketing team for managing not to give everything away in the trailers. 🙏🤫
