Not sure how much I'll be using this account.

adopted, queer, disabled, neurodivergent, white settler, Jewish, writer, parent, forager, anti-capitalist. Learning to be anti-racist and learning about decolonization. they/them
Pinned
Okay, lets' try to do this properly.
I'm Jess,
I write queer fiction. Mostly SFF chosen family, some kink, lots of fucking-with-tropes.
On a personal, I'm nonbinary (they/them), Jewish, autistic, disabled, parent, polyamorous, radical, and talk about all of it.

It’s my Thanksgiving tradition to donate my day’s wages to a local Indigenous organization. If you’re able to, I highly recommend doing the same!!

Sometimes the conflict is that the community has already had their world destroyed by colonialism, and sometimes the protagonist isn’t ahh action hero but someone who manages to survive. Sometimes the point of a story isn’t to entertain you.

I looked over some reviews. Reading Goodreads is a whole thing but interesting sometimes. You have to appreciate that this book is not written from a Canadian, typically Western story craft tradition. Stories are very different in Anishinaabe culture. They don’t follow rules about character arcs etc

Fellow scribes of fictitious verse, I implore you to learn the facts about medical conditions before writing them in your stories. I see this one far too often:

Do you prefer writing serialised, sequential, or standalone works? Why?

I've done all of them at one point or another and can't say I really have a preference.

#WIPSnips - Best I could do was 'mess'

Only a few hours ago I had been living a relatively normal – for me – life. I had a home, I was starting to fix the mess I had made of things with my [mates], and had hopes of soon finding Clan Lună and reuniting with them.

The #WIPSnips word for November 27th is "disorganize"

And disorganized is how my kitchen is going to be after holiday baking.

It's Thanksgiving in the USA, so I just want to say how grateful I am for this community and all of you who participate in #WIPSnips every day. You really make my day. 💜

Long story short [too late], I received a merit scholarship based on my precious high school and college performances, not on the merit of the career I've been in for the past 10 years.

It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

Friend came over this evening. Helped me do some grocery shopping and cooked a bunch of meals to help us get through the week.

Sometimes, you can make a big difference for a disabled friend or relative just by sharing a few hours of your time.

Elisabeti will never recover from the loss of her whole family in the war. It is what will drive her away from her pack to hide among humans where she hopes her cub will be safe.

“If it were that bad you would get help.”

“If you can post on social media you’re fine”.

Disabled people are constantly subjected to “if” statements from people who have no concept how bad it can get & how little help is available
