Funny thing is that i’d be way more likely to actually read these than normal credits, even though they’re orders of magnitude longer. I’m interested in how a game I just played was made, and other than the 1% of times I recognize a name, normal credits are functionally just a bunch of word shapes.
We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

picked up To a T in the Black Friday PS5 sale, and while it’s too early for me to assess it as a game, any fan of ludicrously expository sitcom theme songs is going to find this opener intriguing

My only thought about Nick Cave is that I got The Good Son in 1991 for $5 in a used CD bin, and had my first instance of the quasi-paradoxical reaction “This album is great / I have no interest in ever buying or maybe even hearing another album by this person”

I’ve done a 15-minute chunk on Oregon Trail that inevitably ends up more like 30-40 for a decade of my 80s games class, and just spent a minute kicking myself for never digging up this fact—until I followed the Wikipedia link and discovered it was to an interview from last year (23 min in) 🙂

More trivia: These were part of a string of three consecutive number ones - starting with the preceding "Bad" by Michael Jackson - that received a "Weird Al" Yankovic parody on his 1988 album "Even Worse."
