I don't know how the ROI on this kind of thing compares with (say) TV ad buys so I have no grounds to judge. Better criticism of Kat's campaign is just that she should get rid of the private option in her M4A advocacy.

Whenever this "should we spend funds on mutual aid that could be going into winning state power instead" controversy comes up in DSA the standard reply is that mutual aid should really be understood as an outreach / marketing tool, not as a replacement for welfare. Seems plausible enough to me
