For over two decades, we have pushed back against border violence. In these moments, we remain steadfast in our commitment to a world free of borders and the violence that shrouds them. Free movement for all peoples!

the invasion of Afghanistan is among the most horrific recent chapters of the long history of elite impunity in the US. this coda is grim but fitting - the govt practically explicitly affirming that it should only be Afghans who live with the consequences amid fading public memory of the atrocity
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

Conservatives spent the last few decades conjuring up a bogeyman of a communist takeover of the US government that would mean the incarceration of Christians and making practicing Christianity illegal, only to finally create their own version of such a bizarre fantasy.

protests, especially iterative ones, seize public space to: reveal the balance of forces, upend the “distribution of the sensible,” give people the affective charge of being with others in a new way, affirming they are not alone, and help people start to formulate the question: what’s next?

can you imagine just sitting down to plan this and not feeling any shame or hesitation. seeing jane goodall on the tv as you’re doing it and how her thing was gorillas and yours is getting ready to deport a guy who’s been wrongly imprisoned since reagan’s first term
After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

MSF staff are universally understood to be engaged in an essentially sacred form of work. For a state to nonetheless continuously murder them is a testament to a truly unthinkable degree of depravity.

That’s literally what an ICE agent said when ICE, the FBI et al. raided an apartment in Chicago, including with a Blackhawk helicopter, separated children from their parents, and zip-tied them to each other.
