single stair buildings - like the rest of the world - addresses all of these issues.

the way we build multifamily housing in the US is a global anomaly. it is less livable, less climate adaptive, less affordable, less accessible, and less family friendly because of it.

this needs to change!
🧵Housing is the #1 monthly expense for families across the U.S.

The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs unanimously passed landmark legislation that will boost supply, reduce homelessness, and expand homeownership nationwide.

Completely agree with Jim. There are things you can learn about the United States only by not living in the United States
Subject for another time, but *living* outside the US, for at least 6 months at a stretch but preferably 1 -2 years or more, is incomparably enlightening. In many cases more "affordable," because longer stays usually involve some kind of job, an exchange program, etc.

Tech bros get frustrated with politics, which involves painstaking, often frustrating communication & compromise with other people who have different backgrounds & perspectives, so their approach is always to wish it away: a brand new city! a brand new political party! this one weird trick!

We could do it here if we wanted.

Californians drive way too much, and excessive driving is mostly due to exclusionary land use regulations championed by wealthy NIMBY homeowners and progressive anti-development types. The Myth of Drug Expiration Dates
Hospitals and pharmacies are required to toss expired drugs, no matter how expensive or vital. Meanwhile the FDA has long known that many remain safe and potent for years longer.
