As a person with Imaginary Companions, I have to say I don't get the "ai" dating thing. You can just imagine a conversation for free. Nobody can stop you, you know.

Been seeing (and blocking) a greater number of shitty folks using familiar Twitter-esque tactics. I don't mean shitposting, just shitty weaponized literal-mindedness and sealioning.

if you're one person making a comic by yourself, don't treat yourself like you should function on the same level as comics that have multiple people working on them. your backgrounds can be squiggles and colors.

Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.
tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

Consider me influenced.
One big reason I'm falling in love with Tubi and refuse to make an account. It barely recognizes that I'm a person and I've blocked myself from making a Watch Later list.
I either continue watching something I started or I dive into the chaos and find something.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
