Why is the "we must be united!" hectoring directed at people who are mad at the Cavers and not to the Cavers? Everyone who's mad was united, then the Cave Caucus walked across the aisle and betrayed what the public had been told was the Dem position.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

On the one hand all of our healthcare is about to be ruined but on the other at least we can go to jail again over mildly palliative relaxers demonstrably less unhealthy and damaging to others than alcohol.
of all the things about this deal that are pissing me off this might have pissed me off the most

Doubling the insanity is that this shutdown is the definitive “you’re gonna look so bad dude” that is actually WORKING. They are going to bail out a perfect storm of cataclysmic disasters for the GOP in exchange for getting all the blame when healthcare is eradicated
“Guaranteeing a vote” that you will lose is yet again reliance on the “You’re gonna look so bad dude” shit that has worked exactly zero times. Sorry for the posts about the same thing I feel like I am going insane

The Rock HOF is deeply unserious but seeing OutKast get in is a treat bc I defy any of the usual suspects who get red and nude about hip-hop acts getting inducted to point to literally any charting rock act in 96-03 half as daring, proggy, and form-breaking as them. It’s like Radiohead and that’s it

You might enjoy these quotes from Falk talking in general about Columbo's "reaching into pockets" business. (In that same interview he told me about directing "Blueprint for Murder" and getting help from Cassavetes and Spielberg.)

Guy who looks like Mark Rylance was sucked through a jet turbine and miraculously emerged alive is here to talk about being alpha.
I’m sorry, but a goofy looking guy who grew up a privileged son of a pediatrician and has a phd in social theory from the university of Goethe and started in tech by investing an inheritance left to him by his grandfather talking about being a “dude” is very, very funny to me.

Jurassic World Rebirth: it’s disingenuous for the World movies to keep emphasizing that audiences are too jaded and unappreciative so capitalists keep having to up the stupid ante to undergird a franchise that has pumped so many turd sequels into theaters.

Impossible to overstate how stupid you are if you think this is happening. What if the guy in every student gov election who promises “free soda from the vending machines” became king and was also a racist
A $2000 tariff “dividend” would be negative for bonds — if the bond market actually believed it would ever happen. 🤡

Working yourself into a shoot(ing yourself in the foot)
Miranda Alize and Nixon Newell (Tegan Nox) refused to lose tonight against TayJay, per a PWInsider report. Working to confirm and get details.
They were replaced by Hyan and Maya World

For the most part, my physical and (external State of Things aside) mental health have been so much better in my 30s than my 20s, but I wish I’d been better warned how much of my life would be given over trying to trim a single irregularly long and seemingly adamantine nose hair.

I’m not the first and won’t be the last to say it but a national draft not for our imperial death machine but a mandatory period of service work would be the most successful reeducation program in human history.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.
