Trying something different this year and doing a “make ahead” bone-in turkey breast. Brined yesterday, roasted today, will be sliced and warmed back up tomorrow, with broth and an herb butter.

The new Pluribus episode arrived early this week, and so did my AV Club review, in which I praise the show's many well-constructed sight gags. Also it remains fun to play the game Think Along With Carol. www.avclub.com/pluribus-rec...
We don't have a Culver's in my town but we do have the very similar Freddy's, which is incredibly underrated IMO. Excellent burgers, great variety of tasty sides, plus custard. Ace fry sauce too.

People who are appalled by this obviously don’t understand that publishing a nude painting of yourself when you assume a new editorial position is a tradition that dates back to (at least) William Shawn. Know your history before sounding off.
I regret to inform you there is more Olivia Newzzi: the print VF will feature a nude portrait by artist Isabelle Brourman that is also destined for Art Basel Miami Beach. Notably, its inclusion appears be a surprise to VF staff. VF looking worse and worse here. www.artnews.com/art-news/new...

This was already high on my to-watch list; now it's a must. I'll piggyback off of this and say that based on who I follow on Letterboxd, not enough of you have watched ARCO. It's an animated SF/fantasy that initially seems pitched mostly to a preteen audience, but give it time. It takes some turns.
Niche post for critics and movie-awards-season nerds: Don't sleep on The Plague, a superb, excruciatingly tense American debut film--not horror, but in its way terrifying--about being a 12- or 13-year-old boy among other 12- or 13-year-old boys. Opens next month; it's haunted me since I saw it.

I’ll admit that I have a pretty soft job all things considered, but I think my fellow freelance writers will back me up when I say that waiting for edits is legit stressful. Maybe not Air Traffic Controller stressful but at the least “having trouble focusing all afternoon” stressful.
