when i was a kid i wanted one of those ghost traps so badly. relatedly, one big problem with ghostbusters as a franchise is that it has gotten entirely too far away from “these guys are low-key shady exterminators”
Bridget Everett at the Beacon tonight: the perfect medicine. Made my face hurt. One of my favorite shows of the year.

My favorite line from “Vagabond,” about his character in Jean Genet’s “The Maids,” cracks me up every time: “She was a grubby girl, Solange.”

Another, about “Muppet Treasure Island”: “I never had any issues with viewing the Muppets as equals.” His unabashed Muppet adoration is utterly charming.
My reporter’s cut of this story would include what Curry — rooted in L.A. since the Reagan-Bush era — said when I asked how his adopted country is feeling to him lately: “Tough. It’s not good to be an immigrant. It’s a little nervous-making.”
Over lunch in Hollywood last month, Tim Curry talked about his terrific new memoir, “Vagabond,” not being ready to pack it in as an artist and, because the chef asked, when he last saw “Rocky Horror” in a movie theater. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/13/b... (gift link)

You absolutely will. It’s so well done, and the voice in your head will be 100 percent his.
Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay. The Village is the Village, but you know that the east and west sides are somehow bizarrely different all up and down this narrow little island. I will never acknowledge Clinton as a real place (come on — ucch), but East Village and West Village, sure. Each part of a whole.
I was at Two Boots in the West Village today for a slice. I can’t vouch for their regular-people pizzas, but their vegan pizzas are outstanding. Definitely not sleeping until noon.
NYPL for the Performing Arts, coming through once again with exactly the stuff I needed and the absolute best service. A human-made NYC miracle.

I don't argue with anyone who won't watch a Woody Allen movie; it's a personal choice, different for everyone. But Diane Keaton is a big reason I almost never say "[Movie X] is dead to me." My argument isn't "Separate the artist from the art"; it's that movies are never just one person's legacy.
