i've been beating this drum for months

now with authorized stay functionally gone,

asylums and ice appts being used as honeypots for the lazy gestapo

this advice is becoming riskier.

don't delay. widely available is narrowing.

citizens also need passports, birth certificates in order.
BE PRAGMATIC ABOUT PAPERWORK.

GET IT DONE WHILE IT'S WIDELY AVAILABLE.

DO IT LIKE YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE.
while I still keep having papers won't save you as a guiding principle during this time:

green card holders should, bar grave consequences with country of origin, naturalize asap.

leave any feelings about american/ess at the door and be pragmatic. pay a lawyer if neeeded for your case.

This is an admission that their goal is explicit ethnic cleansing of America and genocide, and it should be seen as a direct threat to millions of American lives and billions of lives worldwide.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

straight out of millers mouth
This rhetoric is indistinguishable from the stuff you hear coming out of white nationalists. Completely identical language.
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

When democrats refer to “my colleague across the aisle” this is the kind of person they consider a colleague.
Average American Thanksgiving: President declares total ban on immigration, calls an esteemed democratic governor a slur, and then goes on TV to talk about Somalis like animals when asked about a mass shooting by a former child soldier and member of a CIA associated death squad.

starting a denaturalization thread since it's a stated threat of the regime now

This is a must read for people wondering how we got here with the immigration policies we are seeing. The Trump admin did not invent the system. They’re just aggressively exploiting it.

regime won't leave an opportunity to slam immigrants on the table
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

No, "Deportation Judges" Don't Exist—But That Won't Stop Trump's DOJ from Staffing the Immigration Courts with an Army of Minions
After firing dozens of immigration judges, Trump's DOJ is now recruiting "deportation judges" to rubber stamp removal orders. It will undermine the integrity of the courts for years to come.

escalations of the regime everywhere, every day

kidnappings by the gestapo in daylight
Until a few weeks ago, most immigration arrests in NYC were happening at appointments in the Manhattan federal building or immigration offices. That's over: we're now in the randomly-grabbed-while-out-getting-coffee stage of lawless enforcement. From @gwynnefitz.bsky.social
Sidewalk Arrests Seize New Yorkers in ICE’s Latest Surge
Activists and legal advocates are tracking seemingly random detentions of immigrants on the streets in what they say is a campaign of ethnic profiling.

tps termination for haitians, they just keep doing it

the regime is creating more undocumented people overnight to then hunt them down

contrast this with brazil: first they made him ineligible for public office for 8 years and then - after almost 4 years of proceedings mind you, not a fast system - convicted and sent him to jail yesterday
The 2020 Georgia election case is going to be dismissed in its entirety, with the prosecutor offering less-than-persuasive reasoning. A miscarriage of justice that weakens our democracy.

Yep, to this admin, winning arguments on Twitter is more important than serious policy making.
this administration is more twitter pilled than any previous iteration and the only reason it isn’t called out more regularly is because our top political reporters are just as mentally broken

another front the regime is trying to keep non americans out

also non resident has very specific legal definitions...so a college student that lives here for years would be charged this?
National parks have SO MANY people from other countries (since they get real vacations!)

And they spend a lot of money on hotels, food, souvenirs, etc.

This is unbelievably dumb, it will destroy entire tourist towns

the regime continues to expand against immigrants, this time with contractors for gestapo
NEW: ICE has torn up its $180M cap on a proposed immigrant-tracking program and is now guaranteeing private surveillance firms at least $7.5M each, with potential payouts reaching $281M per vendor. The change signals a shift from “pilot” to full-scale outsourcing of street-level investigative work.

ICE has just under four years to spend $29.9 billion, they are going to outsource AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE to contractors because money is essentially not a problem anymore for the agency.

outstanding work from unbreaking, creating timelines and keeping records for all the immigration happenings when everything feels like a firehose
The fight against authoritarianism has many fronts. At Unbreaking, we choose to work against information overload and for collective understanding. On our Immigration timeline, we track major and representative events from across the US—now filterable by legal case:

public health and immigration will be linked by the regime that doesn't one either one

great effort from this congresswoman, it's important to keep pushing even when it doesn't seem to fix everything
Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

authorized stay might as well not exist at this point, particularly if the immigrant has anything that can be used as a pretext

in this case, a visa overstay which should be pardoned by being married to a us citizen and filing for the green card

revisiting my thread on iranian immigrants, this case is also an arrest for someone with authorized stay - waiting for an answer after his green card interview for 4 months!

can't find an update on the story

the regime is still focusing on iranians as well, back in the spring there were cases of student visa revocations that didn't get the same coverage as others:
back in may, this iranian student detained around the same time Öztürk, Suri and Khalil decided to leave the country instead of continue imprisoned

his case didn't get as much media as other international students and was extremely unclear why he was arrested in the first place, not even a pretext
This student was imprisoned erroneously and decided to leave the country rather than stay in detention for longer.

His visa was revoked in the first batch of actions by Rubio, something that was later overturned and DOJ said all students, even with revoked visas, had kept their statuses
