Here @pkrugman.bsky.social nails a crucial aspect to the public backlash against Trump/Miller fascism: Basically decency.

"Many Americans are already sickened by MAGA’s wanton cruelty and bigotry against immigrants, and I believe thnoeir numbers will grow."

DHS publicly fantasizing about massive state violence should be taken seriously, and warrants labels such as fascist and white supremacist. But don't lose sight of the fact that it's beyond their capabilities.

The regime's desire for authoritarian repression is bottomless. Its capacity isn't close.
They want to wipe out almost a third of the country. It’s got nothing to do with illegal immigration.

It’s white nationalism pure and simple. They’re fascists, and there’s no reason to doubt it.

I know very few elderly people who can put away that amount of food. If this is accurate, Trump is a huge outlier and could well outlive our assumptions about what “healthy” is!

BUT - why should we think an RNC chair is telling the truth about GOP president?
Finally, Trump's diet! Oh my god. The piece closes with RNC Chair Joe Gruters saying he was "shocked" to witness Trump eat "french fries, a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburger, a Big Mac and a Filet-O-Fish" in one sitting (5/6)

So much wishful thinking and searching desperately for cause and effect. When someone has already lived to 79, all the minutiae of “taking care of themselves” won’t answer the question of whether they’re making it to 80.

Might as well ask your crystal ball.
In sum, despite all the obvious lying, if this piece is meant to dispel concerns about Trump's health, it actually does the opposite. This is not a guy who is taking care of himself at 79 years old. (6/6)

So much wishful thinking on this site about Trump’s health. Spend any amount of time around the elderly and you’ll see plenty of people older than Trump, in worse health, getting worse care, who hang on for years.

Plus, he’s a liar. Why make predictions based on anything he says?

And I think liberals should stop taking the bait and ceding ground on immigration.

Immigration is good. Multiculturalism is good. Free trade is good. Stop being embarrassed to say so.

If the next Democratic president doesn’t abolish ICE then the Dems deserve to lose forever
Exclusive: ICE officials plan to spend $100 million to recruit gun-rights supporters and military enthusiasts through online influencers and a geo-targeted ad campaign, part of what the agency called a “wartime recruitment” strategy to hire thousands of officers, according to an internal document.

The biggest mistake liberalism made was to watch conservatives worship the constitution and “the founders” like idols for decades and believe they really meant it.

The constitution and the rule of law they hold dear are the versions in their heads where they get to do whatever they are want.

A great example of how the @nytimes.com centers white Americans and Trump supporters in its anecdotal political coverage. You never see stories like this about Black Democrats whose cities are cracked in Republican gerrymandering to give them Republican elected officials.
They Wanted a Conservative State. They Might Get a Democratic Representative Instead.

The passage of Proposition 50, which redrew California’s congressional map, means that all of the state’s conservative north is likely to be represented by Democrats.
