Slotkin’s view is probably the main Democrat view in DC. I actually think she understands something — that the law enforcement lobby will fight against “abolishing ice” and there isn’t a powerful movement yet to defeat them.

Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

ICE is now routinely using government data to get the personal information of observers without benefit of a subpoena, and then using that data to intimidate those observers from exercising their civil liberties.
