Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

If cultures didn't appropriate from each other, there'd be no culture. I hope everyone enjoys their spicy chilis (including Indian curries) courtesy of the Columbian Exchange. Also looking at you Al Pastor from the Levant. Shut up banh mi and your modified baguettes.
Do they think the Latin alphabet sprung fully formed from Jupiter's forehead?

Surely it couldn't possibly be that almost all alphabets are ripoffs of ripoffs of ripoffs going back to the Bronze Age.

After all, if that held, it'd be really hard to accuse Jews of being uniquely evil and inauthentic.
Some people are very very weird

I think we can safely say that the Leavitt's brother called ICE on his ex, the mother of his child, and I have to say: I have no desire to respect, find common ground or share the country with these monsters.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...
‘Brazil is not her home.’ Mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew, brought to US as child, detained by ICE. - The Boston Globe
Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

Only in San Francisco do conservative reactionaries get to call themselves progressive entirely because the Left in SF has made it scriptural doctrine that opposite all market rate housing is the one true socialism.
This is rich. Connie Chan says she “built real affordable housing, not the Sacramento version that destroys our neighborhoods.”

She points to new affordable housing on Geary: housing that she didn’t build but that *was* built using “Sacramento version” housing laws & $52M in state funds. 🧵

The sheer amount of unsolicited sales spam from CRE bros landing in my inbox (that's just the ones penetrating my spam filter service) over last 12 months is my leading indicator that the CRE market is still in the toilet. Or that AI ruins everything

MTG is just a fascist bring caught up in intra-fascist infighting. It's a Night of Long Knives situation. You do not, under any circumstances, have to hand it to her. (Which is distinct from, say, the Mugwump Never Trumper neocons who've been "No Fash" since day one.)

Like everything else Trump touches and turns into shit, homelessness in America is about to spike thanks to the sociopaths and sellouts at HUD: www.politico.com/news/2025/11...
Trump administration policy change makes deep cuts to homeless permanent housing program
More than half of the 2026 funding for the program will be shifted from permanent housing to transitional housing with work and service requirements.

It is absolutely insane that "the GOP regularly wins supermajorities in the Deep South because white southerners reliably vote for the GOP at a rate outstripping any other demographic" is consistently taken as morally normative, instead of a simple descriptive statement.

I seriously don't understand how corporate hiring managers or corporate recruiters would seriously accept job candidates from the product of a lot of these (largely Southern) MAGA run states at this point. You can't rely on their students having received a real education anymore.

@sfbart.bsky.social like transit agencies across the country has for decades been addicted to expanding outward to chase far flung suburban commuters. All the while actual transit experts have criticized that model as brittle & neglectful of higher value intracity service buildout. And here we are.

It's a Cave Bill and the Democratic Party owns it.
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Longest shutdown in history leaving Americans unprotected, unfed & unhoused. All because of Republicans juvenile belief that being in charge means that they don't have to grow the fuck up. The American people are sick & tired of this extended temper tantrum thrown by a bunch of MAGA man-children.

Gonna keep saying it: if a bartender who never ran for office ever before can take out Nancy Pelosi's heir apparent, there's someone out there who can successfully primary Jeffries out of a job.
CNN: Hakeem Jeffries was asked this morning if you're the future of the democratic party. He said no.

ZOHRAN MAMDANI: Good to know.

CNN: Do you have a response?

MAMDANI: No. I'm focused on the next two days.
