It’s official: I’m running for Congress to represent San Francisco!

I’ll fight for our city – against Trump’s takeover, for our values, & for real progress. I’ve delivered on housing, healthcare, clean energy, & civil rights – & I’ll do it again.

Let’s build the future our city & country deserve.
Donald Trump just removed Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth from the list of free entry days at national parks.

They are being replaced with Trump’s birthday.

The social worker murdered at San Francisco General Hospital dedicated his life to the community, including the LGBTQ community. Rest in peace — & loving energy to his partner & other family & friends.

Too many health care workers are at risk of violence & we must do more to protect them.

It’s hard to overstate how cruel & evil this is. These are people who’ve qualified to take the citizenship oath. Are there any red lines these bigots won’t cross?

As the Supreme Court prepares to take up Trump’s extremist effort to end birthright citizenship, let’s remember this isn’t only about the children of current undocumented people. It’s also about tens of millions of second & third generation citizens whose citizenship would be immediately in doubt.

The death cult strikes again, opposing vaccinating babies for Hep B. Children can get Hep B in childcare or at home. It can lead to lifelong illness & cancer.

These are the same folks who don’t want teens vaccinated for HPV, putting them at risk for cervical, penile & anal cancer.

Truly psychotic.

He said Mexican immigrants were rapists.

He said Haitian immigrants were eating cats & dogs.

He said immigrants were “poisoning the blood of our country.”

Let’s be clear: Trump & his ilk are the ones poisoning our nation’s blood. Let’s extract the poison & throw his ass out.

We must continue California’s long legacy as the national leader in scientific progress. This $23 billion ballot measure will protect research across our universities, hospitals, and labs. While Trump defunds science, California is building the infrastructure to save it.

Trump, Miller, Noem, et al, continue to lie that their mass deportations are focused on criminals. That’s not true, a big percentage of people — particularly in blue areas — have no criminal charges.

This isn’t a public safety campaign. It’s a xenophobic, racial profiling campaign.

I wrote California’s landmark law forcing insurers to cover necessary treatment for ALL mental health and substance use disorders, and to stop them from delaying or denying care. In Congress, I’ll keep fighting for stronger protections and access to quality healthcare.

This new major survey confirms what we’ve seen for some time: antisemitism is surging, including more people seeing Jews as “threats” & “disloyal” to the U.S. & fewer willing to stand up & have Jews’ backs.

Antisemitism is being normalized by actions on both right & left. 🧵

In California, you can now report illegal federal actions: oag.ca.gov/reportmiscon...

We’re also holding federal officials accountable for their lawlessness. I passed a law to ban them from wearing ski masks. I’m now advancing legislation to let people sue them for violating people’s rights.

From protecting Muni service to expanding regional transit investments, I have worked to ensure the Bay Area has the abundant and efficient transit system our communities deserve. Now, I'm ready to take that fight to congress. Vote June 2nd, 2026.

The X obsession with Jews — a platform that accepts & amplifies the stereotyping, demonizing & straight up hatred of Jews — is driven straight from the top.

Meet the BFC: the Big Friendly Congressman. When I'm elected as San Francisco's next Congressman, I'll keep fighting for affordable housing, strong public transit, comprehensive healthcare, and a Bay Area where everyone can afford to live. 💙

Thank you to the 7 members of the Board of Supervisors who understand that for San Francisco to have a bright future we need to zone for & build the homes that are essential for that future.

Claude represented that core San Francisco value of seeing the beauty & value in everyone, including those who are a bit different from the norm. Rest in peace, buddy.
Rest in peace to a San Francisco legend, Claude the albino alligator 🐊🤍

The 2025 version of Haitians eating cats & dogs

When your numbers are in the toilet because your policies are making people’s lives worse & more expensive & when your coalition is unraveling, stupid shit can come out of your mouth. Or in Trump’s case, straight up racist shit.

Social security is the most effective programs in history in lifting seniors out of poverty. Let’s stabilize it for the long run by no longer capping withholding (current cap is $184,500) — either increase the cap or have it restart again at a higher income, such as $500K or $1M.
Social Security's day of reckoning is nearly here
There is a tug-of-war between the benefits future retirees receive and the taxes that working-age people pay.

For the first time in decades, the federal government refuses to acknowledge World AIDS Day. But we are prepared for this fight, and we won't let them harm our community. We have built systems of care, fought for our rights, and protected each other through every wave of hate. We are ready.
December 2, 2025 at 2:08 AM
Thanks to a new law I wrote, California now has statewide standards enabling cities to build more homes near transit, protect renters, and provide affordable housing. I’ve spent my career taking on California's housing crisis. Now I’m ready to bring that fight to Washington.
December 1, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Trump says it’s “sedition” & punishable by death, but public officials demanding adherence to the law is good actually.

We need full accountability for lawlessness.

I recently announced new legislation to allow people to sue federal officials who violate constitutional rights.

The “we can’t possibly build more homes because our infrastructure isn’t perfect” argument is ubiquitous in San Francisco housing debates.

It’s effectively saying “sorry, no home for you until all infrastructure is perfect — go live 100 miles away.”

The argument is also factually baseless:

They pretty much want to ethnically cleanse the United States of anyone who doesn’t descend from the Mayflower.

Don’t think for a minute they’re just talking about other people. They’re talking about you.
