This is, uh, not a smart move. Section 230 has its flaws, but repealing it without having an *extremely solid* plan in place to replace the protections for free speech it offers is tantamount to banning the LGBTQ+ community and others from public online spaces.
Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

look up your senator to call them, Section 230 is the law that made the internet what it is. Without it, the government can punish user content and free speech on platforms directly

Tell them Section 230 is what makes the internet free and powerful

The senator and his colleagues pushing this repeal do not understand what they will break by dismantling Section 230. The current regime’s increasingly invasive, repressive posture toward free speech and privacy makes this prospect even more dangerous and alarming. Tell your senators to keep 230.

You are a liar. Section 230 does not do this, what it does do is give children and minorities a voice without over-privileged, pearl-clutching midwits like you being able to file suit and censor them off the web whenever your narrative is challenged or your feelings get hurt.
It has been nearly 30 years since Congress passed Section 230 and gave platforms immunity from lawsuits.

Our children deserve a safer internet and tech companies need to be held accountable for what happens on their platforms.

I mean I’d argue that destroying the free internet serves no useful purpose, so maybe you should just shut up, go home, and let someone else primary you out of office, since you’re just as useless apparently.

I think it's about time someone started a SuperPAC that will spend all its money primarying any Democrat who supports traitorous, stupid shit like this or KOSA.

Internet Freedom PAC?

I'd donate, that's for sure.

Get these fascist chucklefucks in the DNC out of office.

As the Electronic Frontier Foundation has stated many times, repealing Section 230 harms all of us people who use the Internet.

If you live and vote in RI, this is the weekend you call Sen Whitehouse’s office and tell him to reverse course

#StopKOSA #SaveSpeech Call your rep and senators to tell them not to repeal Section 230, this is really bad news if they going to repeal section 230
Repealing Section 230 would chill free speech by allowing platforms, not users, to be held responsible for what its users say. Platforms will become much more censorious over what its users can post. This is extremely bad
They're trying to rush it. Call your reps, don't let them

Democrats paving the road for authoritarianism again and again. Absolute fucks who refuse to listen to any policy advise nor their constituents desires. Republicans might do the fascism but the Democrats aid them in it every time. They break the barriers so the fascists can get what they want.

Dear Democrats... This is why your approval is in the toilet.

Stop helping build the surveillance police state!

Repealing section 230 will only serve to further silence marginalized groups

The subcommittee hearing over age verification bills and KOSA in the House starts in one hour.

Here is a list of all their phone numbers.

If you want to stop age verification, you have to call them. You can't just tweet your frustrations.

Congress is trying to force through mass surveillance/censorship laws THIS WEEK

BOOST THIS EVERYWHERE before it’s too late. 👇
