Jay Jacobs, who oversaw the nation's one and only Democratic bloodbath in Nassau County, Long Island, New York, was not available for comment
A huge night for Democrats:

—They flip Miami's mayorship.
—They flip a state House district in Georgia that had voted Trump by 13%.
—They keep Albuquerque's mayorship, while the liberal faction flips city council.
—And they get big overperformances (+18 & +22) in 2 Florida specials.

Latest from me: a trip through the emerging network of radical, anti-Zionist, and diasporist Judaism in the U.S. With thousands of Jews leaving behind institutions they see as complicit in genocide there are new organizations waiting to support them in their Jewish journey.
As young Jewish people break with the establishment over Gaza, anti-Zionist shuls, chavurot and yeshivas flourish — building bold, justice-rooted forms of Judaism in the diaspora.

@shaneburley.bsky.social on projects offering pathways back to Judaism itself.
The Jewish Diaspora Movement
As young Jews break with established Jewish organizations over Gaza, a new kind of Judaism is flourishing.

Florida is still Florida and I wouldn’t read too much into the results today given low turnout in Miami and the rest of the state being MAGA Paradise, but Georgia is a huge 👀👀👀.

Georgia shifted way less to the right last year than every other state and Dems have MASSIVELY overperformed in specials.
DEMOCRATS HAVE FLIPPED GEORGIA'S #HD121 (Trump+12):

Eric Gisler (D)- 50.9%
Mack "Dutch" Guest (R)- 49.1%

I am so proud of you regardless. You are simply amazing.
Three years ago, our rising progressive movement came within 1.6% of victory in NY-10. We built a powerful grassroots movement that energized thousands of voters who were hungry for real progressive change on housing, healthcare, climate justice, and economic equality.

Miami has not elected a Democratic mayor since the 1990s, so Mayor-Elect Higgins’ victory ends nearly 30 years of GOP control of the office and is being interpreted as a political setback for Republicans in Florida and for President Donald Trump, who backed outgoing Mayor González.

Filed with the City Council in Apr 2024. Had hearings, town halls, briefings, votes by Council & House—& then he blocked it in the Senate last Dec. Council passed it again in Feb 2025 & we’re still waiting for a vote.

I don’t have the power to stop State Senators from doing their job, only they do!
Imagine the audacity of Mayor Wu asking the least productive legislature in the country to do some work when they’re already 2 weeks into their 6 week holiday break?

Stunned by how dishonest senators like Senate President Karen Spilka and Senator Nick Collins are being about Mayor Michelle Wu's tax shift home rule petition.

It was filed in February. They ignored it. No right to complain that it's a brand new ask. #mapoli

We’ve been waiting for nearly two years for the State Senate to take a vote on our bill. If they have additional proposals, we’re not the ones stopping them.

Btw our legislation includes balanced tax stabilization to help all residents AND additional tax relief for seniors & small businesses.
As Mayor Wu answers questions on the taxpayer shift proposal on Reddit, Senate President Spilka issues statement defending Sens. Brownsberger and Collins, who killed the proposal last year

Netflix sucks but the mobsters in our government will do whatever it takes to ensure Ellison runs CNN
Jared Kushner's involvement was "not mentioned in Paramount's press release on Monday morning about its $108 billion bid, nor were participating sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar."

fancy that
Jared Kushner is part of Paramount's hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery
Paramount is telling WBD shareholders that it has a smoother path to regulatory approval than does Netflix.

This is an excellent and necessary use of Holocaust analogies.

Like, sometimes you should avoid Holocaust analogies. But not in this case. This is right on.
