We’ve been waiting for nearly two years for the State Senate to take a vote on our bill. If they have additional proposals, we’re not the ones stopping them.

Btw our legislation includes balanced tax stabilization to help all residents AND additional tax relief for seniors & small businesses.
As Mayor Wu answers questions on the taxpayer shift proposal on Reddit, Senate President Spilka issues statement defending Sens. Brownsberger and Collins, who killed the proposal last year

Ahead of her second term, Mayor Michelle Wu has laid out a lofty goal: Make Boston Public Schools the best major city school district in the country.
‘If kids can’t read, what else is there?’ For Wu’s second term, BPS improvements are paramount. - The Boston Globe
At her October "State of the Schools" speech, Wu set the lofty goal of making BPS the best urban school district in the country. What metrics she'll use to measure that remain unclear.

Filed with the City Council in Apr 2024. Had hearings, town halls, briefings, votes by Council & House—& then he blocked it in the Senate last Dec. Council passed it again in Feb 2025 & we’re still waiting for a vote.

I don’t have the power to stop State Senators from doing their job, only they do!
Imagine the audacity of Mayor Wu asking the least productive legislature in the country to do some work when they’re already 2 weeks into their 6 week holiday break?

With Mayor @wutrain.bsky.social in Nova Scotia to watch Boston's tree start its journey, a reminder of how this tradition started on December 6, 1917. 🧵
By December 1917, Canada had been at war for three years, and the port of Halifax was a key part of the war effort, moving goods and troops to the European front. As two ships steamed through "the Narrows" that morning, they tried to make up time, passed too close, and collided.
