90% of my animation friends are unemployed. I'm on hiatus. The value of animation is proven every year. Greenlight new shows! Don't overdevelop. Don't chase trends. You can't chase trends w/ animation! It takes too long! Tell good stories. Take risks."Demon Hunters" was a risk & look how it paid off
Animation ruled streaming in 2025. Again. Nielsen data shows 'Bluey' repeated as the most-watched title across all genres, while 'KPop Demon Hunters' was the most-watched movie, and Seth MacFarlane won the inaugural Streaming Icon of the Year award.

Here’s a Canadian story that is an example of cutting off your nose to spite your face:
The Conservatives decided to blame immigrants for the housing crisis. The news media parroted it without any inspection whatsoever and so ppl believed it. Demand and supply right?
WRONG.

Today is the 38th anniversary of the Morgentaler decision, which we shouldn't forget as threats to reproductive choice keep rearing their ugly heads.

Last night I spent 20 minutes on the unheated platform at St-Laurent (-12) while Line 1 was on "Hold".

The fact that we have outdoor, unheated platforms in January is baffling.

A Canadian-made armoured vehicle was spotted on Minneapolis streets the day ICE murdered Alex Pretti.

The company that sold ICE that monster as part of a $10 million deal? Roshel.

What’s more:

Canada’s government brought Roshel’s CEO on a trade mission SIX DAYS AFTER Renee Good was murdered.

“To make a pivotal speech about the need for new alliances, and the very next day, lay off the exact people responsible for building said alliances, is confusing to say the least.”

Mark Carney says we need a new global order. So why is he cutting Canada’s most vital tools to build one?
Cuts to the public service will weaken our capacity to build new alliances.

This makes zero sense to me. Public money was used to create this database of historic places, and it seems dumb and a waste of money to throw it in the trash. Feels like something Trump and Doge would do, not Canada.

Either keep it in Govt, or transition it to a credible new non-profit caretaker.
This here is some mind boggling ridiculousness. Parks Canada announced the Register for Historic Places - a searchable database and a cornerstone for understanding heritage places – will be permanently unplugged this spring @willgreavesmp.bsky.social #CdnHist

In political communications, "message discipline" is seen as an asset. But when the same message keeps being repeated despite the fact that it's not resonating, then it becomes a liability. With Mayor Sutcliffe's oft-repeated boast about Ottawa's low taxes, I think we're at that point. 1/
Ottawa’s property tax increases have been the lowest of any major city in Canada.
