Zoe Weissman survived the Parkland shooting. Now she’s at Brown, and it happened again.

“Honestly, I'm really angry that this is happening to me all over again, and I'm just in shock.”

If someone wishes you "happy holidays," it doesn't mean they hate Christmas. They're simply acknowledging that there are *many* sacred observances that take place this month, including the anniversary of Muntadhar al-Zaidi throwing a shoe at George W Bush on this date in 2008.

A final heated rivalry point for the evening is you’re telling me that Kip works multiple jobs, spends time with his friends at the bar, is applying to an ART degree, and has like sixteen visible fucking rock hard abs???? complains about going to work early but spends 8 hrs at the gym per day

Heated Rivalry eps 1 and 2 are a fanfiction plot, obviously, but the characters are fun. Episode 3 was the plot of a worse fanfiction with tired characters and I’m like okay can we go back to my sad Russian boy now?

there are of course many examples of political constituencies that have in fact killed scores of children (en route to some other evil goal), but I can't offhand think of any historical examples of a political constituency organized for that specific purpose
Breaking: After contentious debates and three failed attempts at a vote, a federal vaccine committee decided on Friday to end the decades-long recommendation that all newborns be immunized at birth against hepatitis B.

Maybe instead of committing atrocities, we could just make the rich pay their fair share and have universal healthcare and affordable housing instead.

Idk, just spitballing here.

Every dollar JK Rowling makes from Harry Potter is going into bankrolling an extortion racket issuing legal threats to organizations across the UK to purge themselves of trans people or face ruinous lawfare.
i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...

it’s crazy that they put pon farr in the show. I would’ve thought the fandom invented it and made it popular so it was fanon but no, they like. They put that in the show.

So many vulnerable people were hurt, harassed and raped by these ghouls and now—I’m worried—it’s gonna become hehe haha lurid internet circus instead of a long overdue moral reckoning. I’m scared of who we all are becoming. That man has brought us ALL low.

The thing that makes Star Trek utopian isn’t the end of scarcity or the harmony between all peoples it’s also that the guy on the ship who gets laid the most plays the trombone at work and periodically does community theater

That’s the other thing that baffles me about AI and creative writing, actually.

The work IS the joy for me. I don’t want to be able to snap my fingers and have a completed “product.” I want to be transformed by the process. I’m an author but I do this because I enjoy the rigor of being a writer.
In terms of process, I enjoy writing but revising????? Oh, that’s my real kink. A second or third draft???? A fourth???? Making tweaks on my desktop AND my phone???? *moans* I’m a WHORE for revision.
