There’s nothing wrong with doing fanfiction plots it’s just that veterans of the trenches who’ve read lots of fic are gonna be able to be like “I’ve read this done way better” so if you’re gonna convert a fic to a commercial book and then TV show you better be doing it VERY WELL

but i'm not entirely useless, i can tell you the inner workings of a hostel (no restaurants, communal fridge, dubious open condiments)
