A thread from Stephen is always worth paying attention to imo
9 defeats in 13 games is a wild run of form right now.

I said at the start of the year - too much change = transition year and that tends to always be bad.

Ideally you want to phase out older players and phase in replacements over a period of 6-12 months. Robbo & Fabinho are probably perfect

I have to say as well, by the way; What was Ali doing trying to stop Paqueta getting himself sent off? The result that we *desperately* need is not secure, and one of the biggest threats on the other side is determined to shoot himself in the face; So fucking well let him. Bizarre all 'round. #LFC

That was absolutely everything Arne Slot needed. A really professional, controlled performance, and a fully deserved win to stop the rot. They have to build on this now.

0-0 half time, 2-0 full time feels like exactly what Liverpool needed today. Control throughout, no real drama.

A real building block of a performance today. Love it.

Up the Reds.

Yep. Big shout for Gomez, coming in with virtually no rhythm whatsoever. Acquitted himself really well in that context especially, and really helped solidify that right side (along with Soboszlai).
Nice bit of play from Wirtz, Gakpo and Isak. Gomez has been a good addition to this Liverpool setup, too.

Bit of a mixed bag, that #LFC line-up.

● Pleased to see Gomez in.
● Less pleased to see Konate.
● Very surprised at Mac over Jones.
● Ekitike's injury proving minor is good news.
● Interesting that Salah is the high profile change. Timing feels odd, given he's been better recently.
● Gakpo. Sigh.

Really hoping this isn't Slot's team talk later today, tbh.
At bowling with the kids. Edged the pair of them out by a narrow 4 pin margin, frankly against the run of play. During the interval they're having a team talk and Twin 2 has a plan:

"I think we should do the same, except win"

Hard to argue with the planned outcome there. More to follow...

Really hoping for something different from #LFC tonight. Firstly in terms of one or two players dropping out, but also, crucially, the concentration, organisation and aggression across the side being markedly improved. It is very much hope rather than belief at this stage, though.

I see the Your Party conference is going well.

Slot dismissed the idea of 'dramatic change' here, but for me, what that actually looks like is not a new shape/system, but simply a unity of approach - esp. out of possession, coupled with an overall injection of focus and intensity. I take issue w/ the 'using the whole squad' comment, too. #LFC

Can we stop with the embarrassing 'Give it Stevie til the end of the season' cobblers. Not now, not ever.

Why do bald fellas go to hairdressers, honestly. What's that about. Just get some clippers, mate. Do yourself a favour. Wasting everyone's time here.

Must've finally watched him play this season.
So Madrid inform LFC they no longer have interest in Konate. #LFC 👀

Hope is here, and this morning we've proved it.

In just 5 hours, our Crowdfunder has already hit our £100,000 target

But we're not done. We're doubling our target.

Let's take the fight to Reform this May.

He's had some poor moments, but I would completely agree that he's been nowhere near as bad as some have suggested. The tactical side needs work, but; It's also been largely overlooked that he only turned 22 a couple of weeks ago. #LFC
Kerkez seems to be a figure of ridicule for a big section of the match going fans. but these are massive physical numbers. 608m of sprinting and 26 sprints is absolutely elite for a fullback. And the 1v1 defensive stats excellent too.
The team needs MORE piano carriers like him, not fewer #lfc

Alisson
Ramsay
Gomez
Virgil
Robertson
Szoboszlai
Gravenberch
Jones
Salah
Isak
Chiesa

That's who i'd go with on Sunday. Slot has to show repurcussions for subpar performers. Has to. If Gomez can't play, put Grav/Endo in there. KPI is a clean sheet. Complete focus and alignment on that. #LFC

That last sentence is key.

Much of this squad won the league at a canter last season. They then spent a fortune in the summer and (questions on squad balance aside) added real quality.

The performances we're seeing, from this group, is wholly unacceptable.

No other way to frame it now. #LFC
Arne Slot is a league-winning Liverpool manager, one of only two in the last 35 years, and deserves every respect. However, I'm not sure he can or should survive this. Nine defeats in 12 and seven goals conceded in the last two at Anfield. This squad is so much better than that.
November 27, 2025 at 12:29 AM
I have very much not been a part of suggestions around the managers job. There comes a point whereby positions become untenable, however, and the last two results might have moved us into that sitiation. 9 defeats in 12. Two 3 goal home defeats in a row, to Forest and PSV. That is unacceptable. #LFC

My 5 year old came in and watched most of the game with me there. Half way through the second half he asked if we could watch a different #LFC game, "from before". I know, mate. I know.
November 26, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Whilst I agree with this, I still want more from him off the ball at times. Still looks too passive in certain moments, for me. Albeit you can probably level that at pretty much everyone, bar Szoboszlai. Arguably the single biggest issue for us this season is the off ball setup and approach. #LFC
Best thing about Ekitike is that he's so active on the ball. If he doesn't drive it forward himself he's often seeking a one-two into an open area.
November 26, 2025 at 9:11 PM
The only player in the entire squad who has consistently performed at his level this season. Not only that, but he's gone up a level or two, and to do that in this team, in this period, is nothing short of remarkable, tbh. You can probably give him Player of the Season already. #LFC
Liverpool's goals in their last four games:

1) Szoboszlai assist for Mac.
2) Szoboszlai goal.

That is all.
November 26, 2025 at 9:01 PM
HT thoughts:

● Staggered Slot picked an unfit Isak at the weekend and then rested him here
● Still have no idea what Virgil is thinking. Indicative of current mentality
● Good reaction at 0-1, unsurprisingly led by Szoboszlai
● I'd like this intensity when Gakpo isn't playing his old team
